Peaceful and a beautiful masterpiece

As the shield thudded and bent under the oppressive volley, barely audible above the jeers of the crowd, the small girl glanced at the ground in shame, her hazel eyes skimming over the debris thrown not only her, but her protector. She saved the warrior's life with her magic, and so many more, yet the village cast her out, screeching "Witch! Witch!" with every step. She gripped her gown tightly, not only to avoid the broken bottles that laid on the cobblestone, but out of raw, unbridled fear. The mountain of a man next to her shifted slightly, feeling her emotions the way only someone in love can. Through his helm, his piercing blue eyes flitted to her, and his honey-smooth voice, deeper than the pit in the woman's heart that he hoped to fill, resonated in his steely coating, protecting him from the blows of the villagers, but alas, also from her touch. "Fear not, my lady. I'm here for you. I always will be". As her fingertips brushed against his arm, glancing off of the molded steel, the pair were filled with a warmth only attributed to only one feeling. A sense of hope. A sense of purpose...


Throughout the hardships and tribulations, throughout the long journey to the Warrior's mountain home, he kept his word. Through solace they found peace. Through peace they found comfort.
Through comfort they found love.
As seasons turned to years, a child was born. A boy, as strong as his father and bestowed with his mother's gifts. With his birth, the newly appointed parents made that same vow to the infant, staring up at them with aqua eyes speckled with brown, his father's reassuring grin playing on his lips....

"Fear not, little one. We're here for you. We always will be..."
