1. VERY FIRST
GO HERE http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Fallout_4_Mod_Installation
Also run fallout in its vanilla version and start a new game, just so your INI files will be created. if not there will be no INI files to work with!!!
2. Fallout 4 SCRIPT EXTENDER (NEEDED) Along with 7Zip File Extract
Straight to the point(s). You have just installed or re-installed your fresh vanilla game of Fallout 4. In order to use almost any mods, you'll need to be running your game off of a different launcher called "Fallout 4 Scrpit Extender". Download it with 7zip.

7zip: http://www.7-zip.org/

Simply choose whatever system you are running on. Majority of you will be 64

F4SE: http://f4se.silverlock.org/

Simply 7zip the archive and read the "Readme" text file. Always open readme's with Notepad.
Inside the readme it prompts "Copy f4se_1_9_4.dll, f4se_loader.exe, and f4se_steam_loader.dll to your Fallout installation folder". Your installation folder is also your root folder (Keep Your Root Folder Pinned, You Will Use it OFTEN). It's normaly located under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 if you just used your original steam library. As for people who move their games, say to another drive, Just locate it where you moved it to.

3. Navigating the NEXUS
Alright, this is where the fun begins, make sure you have made an account with Nexus (http://www.nexusmods.com/games/?). Then make sure you have the latest version of Nexus Mod Manager Downloaded also.
Tip: When I am downloading a clean slate of new mods to Skyrim, Fallout NV etc.. I head straight to the top files first. Here is where they are located after selecting Fallout 4 Mod page.

Selecting browse files will bring up the most endorsed files of all time. Next you will naviagte to whatever mod you want, (I recommend just downloading a lot of the top files, to have some variety and future availabilty. Remeber this, downloading them mod files from the Nexus has no impact on your game, not until you activate the mod or manually install it.) then under files you will simply choose the mod that fits for your taste and your game files.

If you have all the DLC, chosse that version. If you only have Automatron, chosse that version. YOU GET IT! If it requries another mod for it to work right, then DOWNLOAD IT. Don't skip past it or ignore it thinking you dont need it.
*I always endorse, its nice and it keeps track of your mod history.
*Always download the Unoficial Patches. I normally activate this first when i start modding.
*Always Read The descriptions of Mods. Sometimes it is recommended to just use Nexus MOd Manager (NMM) When installing a mod and sometimes it's recommended to do it manually. I will show you how to make manual installing easy.
4. Using Nexus Mod Manager (NMM)
Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) is like a defaut mod installer program that comes from Nexus. Now when you first open it, it may look complex or confusing but dont worry. I have only used NMM for 4 different modded games and i run 145 mods currently on Fallout 4, all at once, with 0 errors, 0 faulty mods and no stress. Depedning on the mod, if it asks you to just use NMM, then just use NMM. NMM will simply extract the archive of the mod you downloaded, into your game data folder. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data

Mostly it is ENB's will be placed into your root folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4. But do not worry about ENB's right now.

Simply double clicking on the mod name will activate it/install it. In the bottom of the manager you will see the downloader que, and the activation que. DO NOT double lick it again, unless you want to disable the mod. NOTE: disabling mods does not always mean completely removing them. Some mods need to be deactivated from in game before disabling. Others need to be physically deleted from the Data folders. So READ THE DESCRIPTIONS and make sure you know what you are doing. Green check means it is activated, grey font means it is not.

From top to bottom.

Green plus sign adds mods from the URL to NMM. Dont worry about using it.

The Ban or Check symbol is either disabling or activation the mods. Use this if you dont want to double click it.

Paper and pencil, retrives missing mod info. Dont worry about using it.

Orange arrow and wheel thingy? Mod updater, dont worry about using it. If you need just look back at Nexus page for mod updates because they normally require further action upon updating the mod.

Thumbs Up means endorse, i recomend endorsing it from the website
Next just lets you collapse or open catagories as you want.
Last is just a view changer. SIMPLE

THIS GUY IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. He will take you straight to your root folder or your archived mods folder. Useful for Manually Modding.
5. MANUALLY MODDING (MY WAY)
Now installing a mod on your own may sound scary, or it may sound like "i dont know how to?".
But, it is very simple. To start off i never select download manually. I always download mods with the tab (unless you only have the manually download tab). Then read instructions carefully.
\

Because it will have all the archive stored in this handy little guy here

Under this folder tab you will have 3 options.
Your Game Folder
Your NMM Mods Folder
& your NMM mods install info folder (Do not bother with this one)

Next, I will open my Game older and my NMM Mods folder. I will put them side by side using windows useful auto window resize. By dragging the window to the left or right side of the screen. It should look like this.

I have MY Nexus mods to the left and my game folder to the right.
Next select a mod. For example I will be showing you Pugmeat. A folowwer mod. I open it with 7zip. Then you will see folders labeled "Textures, Meshes, Scripts" And Maybe some esp. files.
Next I will open my data folder inside my Fallot 4 root folder. Depending on how many mods you have installed, there will already be those folder names there or you can just move the folders from 7zip into the data folder of your Fallout 4.

Now some mods may have compliacted files, maybe the file names are unclear or you dont know where to put a new folder that does not already exist. These are ones you would use NMM for. But textures, meshes and esp. files are all relativley straight forward and simple.
esp. Files always go into your data folder, they do not belong in any other sub folders past the Fallout4\Data\. Example.

Adter an ESP is added to your data folder, it will show up in NMM under plugins where you can acuvate or deactivate the mod with just a click! Some mods are only esp. files and wont require textures or meshes or such.

6. last but not least LOOT
Now this is the game changer. LOOT is a program that detects your games files, and will inform you of multiple things. Erros which will crash your game to desktop (very common in first time modders) It will tell you what esp or files you will need when there is an error. It will twll you your active plugins and total ones as well, and much more.
Just go here https://github.com/loot/loot/releases/tag/0.10.3 and download and run the installer

Then select your game once you run the app and it will inform you. I think you got it from here. Thank you and i hope this helps to all.

So i've already hooked up the Script Extender as well as already have FMM implemented, but I got a notice when I opened up FMM saying I need an "ini", not only that but Script Extender is working but when I use a recent save, it nags me about "Add-Ons (DLC) won't be in this save" and i've no idea how to fix this,
