well considering this was the latter end of the paleoproterozic and there were no organisms on land I think we have a little creative liscense. But again, jungles around the tropics, deserts near the horse latitudes, a wet north east coast, don't forget the ran shadow produced by the huge mountain range. I would put a desert behind it.
