How To: Download Counter-Strike: Classic Offensive

This guide was made to show Counter-Strike players how to install the CS:GO mod, Counter-Strike: Classic Offensive.

This guide will teach you how to download the CS:GO mod, Counter-Strike: Classic Offensive.

History

CS:CO was developed by Steam user, ZooL. The mod was intended to bring the feel of playing CS 1.6 back to the Counter-Strike franchise. CS:CO(as of January 2017) has been in development for "about a year and a half" so far. CS:GO is required to play the mod, but it's only 500MB away!

Downloading The Mod

Now, before we can start shooting people with those Nighthawks and Schmidt Scouts, we need to download the mod! The mod is located at the official ModDB page.

After redirecting to the ModDB page, click the "Download Now" button.CS:CO should now start downloading to your system! It is recommended that you save the CS:CO zip file to your desktop!

Adding CS:CO To Steam

Now, since we have CS:CO downloaded to your desktop(or desired location), we can start implementing it into the Steam library. Don't worry, this is easier than it sounds! Just follow each step!

• Open File Explorer(or your local file manager.)
  
• Navigate to your sourcemods folder(95% of the time, it is located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods.)
  
• Go to your desktop, unpack csco by dragging the csco folder out of the zip folder.
  
• Drag csco to the sourcemods folder

  You should now have a window looking like this!
  After this, Counter-Strike: Classic Offensive should appear in Steam. If you are having problems, try restarting Steam; this will reload the files!

WARNING

Yes! CS:CO is now running...but you cannot start playing without understanding which servers you can connect to. YOU CAN ONLY PLAY ON SERVERS SPECIALLY MADE FOR CS:CO! IF YOU CONNECT TO ANY OTHER SERVER WHILE CS:CO IS RUNNING, YOU WILL GET VAC BANNED! READ HERE FOR THE OFFICIAL CS:CO SERVERS AND MORE INFORMATION!
