Fixing Dead Space Crash On Save
Von Wisemon
If your game crashes everytime you attempt to save, regardless of where it is and what you've done to fix it, fear not! I have found a simple solution that will solve all of your problems that only requires the insertion of a few files!

The Issue
I'm not entirely certain what is causing the issue with the game crashing upon saving--either it be a problem with home servers or the game has no idea how to make save files sometimes for whatever reason. However, I did stumble upon a forum with people who were having the same issue that I was despite the fact it was with Dead Space 2. You can find this forum here; It will provide more information that I ever could.
The Fix
Fixing the problem is extremely easy. All you need to do is add save files for the game to overwrite. You can get save files all over the Internet for Dead Space, but I got mine here[www.nicouzouf.com]. You only need to download one save file.

After that, locate the save file directory (My Documents/Electronic Arts/Dead Space). Make sure it is not the directory with the joystick file. After that, simply stick the save file into the directory and copy it three times, renaming one of each to "ds_slot_01.deadspacesaved," "ds_slot_02.deadspacesaved," "ds_slot_03.deadspacesaved," "ds_slot_04.deadspacesaved," and so on, depending on how many save slots you intend to use (up to a maximum of 20).
The Game
Now that you've done that, next time you try to save in a new game, your game will overwrite the save files you added rather than crashing. You can now enjoy the wretched innards of the USG Ishimura with Issac Clark to your hearts content!

I can't be the only one who thinks Issac Clark looks like he's a baby.

Solution
Open Windows Start menu.
Type Windows Security.
Press Enter on keyboard.
Click on Virus & threat protection on the left action bar.
Scroll to Ransomware protection on the right side on the screen.

"Make sure it is not the directory with the joystick file." - well, in "\Documents\Electronic Arts\Dead Space\" lies a joystick file. What now? :/
