NSN Camalla - Discordia Class Strike Carrier

The Camalla is the first commissioned and fully operational Discordia Class strike carrier built by the Xerxes Corporation for the New Syndicated Navy (NSN).

Discordia Class Strike Carriers are designed to serve as front line assault craft, and are part of the 'VersaTek' modular rig and framing system being incorporated by Xerxes Corporation. Six hardpoints are located along the length of the vessel, allowing separately built, modular 'add-ons' to compliment the main vessel. * The Camalla currently has armor plating installed along each side. When in port, these can be easily removed and replaced with additional engine pods, weapons, drone flight decks, or even living and cargo storage.

Primarily, the Discordia class vessel is designed to punch its way through enemy lines and launch heavy strike craft attacks and drone strikes from its forward and rear hangar bay launch decks. These decks are designed to launch and retrieve strike craft quickly and efficiently. * The NSN Camalla is currently carrying 4x DevilRay Strike Drones, 1x Haley Troop Transport, 2x Arrowhead Light Fighters, and 1x BroadAxe Assault Craft.
If necessary, the Discordia can also accomodate additional craft on its topside flight deck.

Discordia class vessels are built to be as durable as possible, and to be able to still function after losing several major systems. Multi layored armor, plus redundant power grid and auxillary systems keep the Discordia moving and firing while under heavy attack. The original, un-modded version of the Discordia is lacking in turning speed, and the current v.2 model is being reworked to add additional port and starboard engines to facilitate a better ratio. Until then, engine pods are available to attach to the VersaTek frame system to increase turn speed.

The Discordia is the second capital ship design commisioned to the Xerxes Corporation from the NSN, following the highly successful Roland class assault cruiser, and is also currently fielding the new DevilRay strike drone, which are undergoing combat testing in addition to the Discordia. However, the bulk of the NSN's strike squadrons are still composed of BroadAxe, Rapier, and Wasp fighters supplied by Albatross Allied Industrial, when it was the sole military supplier to the NSN. It wasn't until the devastating loss of the NSN Wolf Den, along with its compliment of strike craft and personnel, that the NSN terminated its contract with Albatross, and eventually awarded a contract to design a strike fighter to the Xerxes Corporation, a company who, at the time, was known mainly for luxary, sports, and high permance personal space craft.

The Camalla is currently at LUDD station undergoing combat trials with the MSN Mastodon.
