Description
Allows to snap props to buildings and elevated roads - just like in asset editor!

This mod does the same job as Tree Snapping, but for props.

This mod won't break your save games, and can be safely disabled at any time. But without it enabled, prop Y-positions will fall back to terrain level.

This mod provides an option 'Don't update prop Y coordinate on terrain modification' (enabled by default). It it's enabled, this mod will prevent trees from hiding under terrain when you elevate terrain. If you want to lower terrain and want all trees load with it, disable the option. If you want to completely decouple prop Y coordinate from terrain modification and allow props to even submerge, enable 'Allow prop to submerge' option as well.

Quite obviously, this mod requires Prop Anarchy mod.

Use More Beautification to access props menu.
If you want to place props outside of city's borders, use my Cross The Line mod.

This mod uses awesome detours C# library[github.com] by cope. Without it, this mod would've been impossible to make.

Added: 'Allow prop to submerge' option ('Don't update prop Y coordinate on terrain modification' must be enabled as well for it to work)
Fixed: Don't update prop Y coordinate option now mentions prop and not tree

jboord44: You have to enable prop anarchy by that required prop and trees anarchy mod. It is by default SHIFT+P, but it was in collision in my game with Prop replace mod. Then the props are automatically placed on top of buildings (so no snapping to walls, only to roofs etc.)

Hello guys. I have a couple of questions about sinking buildings and moving decals. I would like to build a wall as Strictoaster does and I would also like to be able to sink building below the groung.

1. Strictoaster makes the decals float: at 37.35

but when I do it they always follow the ground pattern and i cannot place them like he does. the follow terrain is ofc off. Any idea what am i doing wrong? ..

it works on all the decals, this one is just for show.

2. It also seems that pg up/down are not working. I cannot lift my props or buildings above ground with it, however if i place them on a hill i can move them and they will float in the air. After i do that i can use pg up as i please. However when i move the props to ground level i cannot use pg up/down any more (but sometimes I can, which is weird.) On this pic I cannot sink the wall below the surface with pg down. when i try to sink the house it sinks the whole area. Strictoaster uses only pg down the buildings not the terrain which the building is on.

I have the prop snapping enabled and i checked the buttun that should allow me to submerge buildings below the terrain.

Any advice would be appreciated.

How exactly does this mod work? Button to press? How do you actually get props to snap, nothing written in description about this

On my machine with this mod active, roads no longer delete small rocks when you build them, trees yes but the rocks no. You can delete or move them but of course that is far from ideal solution.

A similar problem as @NanoGrrl and @quazwax01
I'm now creating a mountain map - where I use more than 20,000 props - most are rocks - and guess: with Prop Snapping on, most of them float above the ground - often very high. I try fix this with saving Map without PS, and then turn it on - but result is always the same: props start floating...

Just found a way to fix the problem with the invisible props . Just use the MoveIt Tool : First, place a random prop or move a visible prop near the invisible ones. After that the invisible props will appear. I know it's a little bit annoying at first but I hope I was able to help you anyway :steamhappy:

I have given this mod several chances but am having the same problem as @nanogrrl. Props placed are disappearing or becoming invisible in game and stones suddenly start floating. Everything is fine until this mod is enabled. (I really, really would like to use this.)

I ended up having to disable this mod entirely. :(
