Description
Patches 20 tracks from Digimon World 4 to background musics used in Story and Side Missions. It does not replace original music files, instead it adds new ones and patches directories to them.

These gameripped soundtracks are from Digimon World 4 on the Gamecube. It's meant for personal use, i thought i could share it. You can listen to them firsthand here

Only a handful are picked as the music count is small and more towards combat themes. They're only implemented on Story and Side Missions, in exception to the Main Menu and the Outpost.


In Technical
They're .patches replacing directories instead of replacing .ogg files. This addon should work client-side, but will conflict if there are other mods that replaces soundtracks. I'll warn you that i have yet to apply 'test' operations in the patches. I'm green to the modding community.

You can unpack this mod and use the code and paths for your leisure. Do be aware that as time progresses, Starbound itself will update and change and could render the patches invalid. I'll have to look for errors each update.

Some soundtracks i can't manage making loops off them. They always start from 0. Thankfully, the transitions are seamless.


I'll be making more mods from here and on. Expect to see one in... Every 3 months or less, if i'm not being drunkenly ambitious. Future plans are a Steam group for discussion of my mods, collaboration, and livestreams!

Use
Musical contents, graphics, and names are owned by any or both of Bandai and CyberConnect2.
You are able to modify the mod's contents but crediting the author is required.

I mean, i guess i don't need usage rights if i'm yet to make enough to be able to call creations mine.

Interesting to see your files. Although you use "replace" instead of "add". I tried the mod ingame and it only plays the Digimon soundtrack and doesnt play the original music. Messing around with it I used "add" instead of "replace" and i still got it only playing the one set of music. I'm going to keep messing with it and see if i can get it to play both soundtracks.

@CleverAdvisor Very weirdly there's no dedicated tutorials to add/replace soundtracks through basic JSON Patching. There is, a tutorial for it, here [community.playstarbound.com]. If there isn't one out there, i'll make one.

Patching doesn't replace the original music files. Thus i want everyone to use it.

For the time being, here's a'couple screenshots from my patch, until i've made a guide.

Hey just wanted to comment on how you figured out to add music to the mission and bosses? I tried forever to get it to work and never did! Great mod and gonna look at the code and try it out myself :myougiLaugh:

@InvertedFortune I feel like i didn't listened to your advice. But looking for audio rips is harder than finding the game's ROMs.
I got a bunch'a of em at the moment, going to need you to take a pick on one. [www.strawpoll.me]
I also have original soundtracks collections of several tv series, i doubt i'm able to use them.
