SET for Halloween 2016

Three years in the making, Skyrim Encounters and Themes for Halloween 2016 now takes the frighteningly fun freak show on the road, giving you insidious incentive to prowl the night instead of fast traveling. Treks from town to town are more terrifically terrifying: You'll run into (or run from!) more werewolves, vampires, death hounds, witches, ghosts and gargoyles. Immerse yourself in conversations with spirits who haunt the highways but don't realize their dead. Enjoy the show as packs of werewolves and vampires fight to the death, but be ready to defend yourself against survivors! And don't forget to re-experience the freaky favorites of last year, including flaming jack-o-lanterns, spine-chilling scenery, creepy clutter, gruesome guards and menacing merchants.

The mod requires Dawnguard. If you don't have the DLC, a non-Dawnguard edition is HERE. A French edition of the mod translated by Sylom is HERE.

Disable the mod any time and the Skyrim "nightmare" ends. Architecture, clutter, food and NPCs return to normal. Change your mind? Enable it again, and the "nightmare" returns! See Disabling or Unsubscribing, below. You should unsubscribe from last year's SET for Halloween.

More than two dozen wilderness encounters now feature creepy creatures. These are new terrifying twists on old chance meetings, where people you meet turn into werewolves or appear as apparitions. You'll confront more death hounds, witches and gargoyles, and even witness battles between vampire imperials and lycanthrope Stormcloaks!

Many guards of towns and holds are transformed into freaks that come out at night! In Whiterun after sunset, ghost guards haunt the streets. By day, they transform into werewolves if provoked. Executioners prowl Solitude, vampires have infiltrated the guards of Morthal, armored skeletons walk the deadwood streets of Riften, and Gargoyles guard the stone town of Markarth.

In Whiterun, Arcadia the alchemist is a witch, which you might guess from her witch hat and green skin! Belethor is now one ugly "Mr. Hyde"--an appropriate fit for his ghoulish humor! Ulfberth the blacksmith is what any good Nord of Whiterun would like to be--a werewolf. Don't make him angry--you might not like him when he's angry! Outside towns you'll find vampire khajiits selling wicked wares. (Their freakishly long fangs give them away!) Dawnstar, Morthal, Riften, Solitude and Windhelm also have a monster mash of merchants, see the List of Monstrous Merchants and Scary Citizens, below.

Skyrim's children are wearing different costumes, dressed like witches, vampires, Alik'r warriors, Imperial generals, Dwarven soldiers, thieves, assassins, Thalmor and even the Dragonborn.

Cannibalism is not just for Markarth any more! In every tavern, dining table and kitchen, you'll see citizens cooking body parts, eating severed hands, and drinking from bloody goblets. Sweet rolls and nut treats even have eyeballs! All of these you may buy and eat yourself.

Whiterun, Whiterun Hold towers and vampire strongholds are now lit with carved pumpkins in each brazier. The Jack-o-lanterns flicker with an eerie glow.

Throughout Skyrim you'll find skull candles; cooking pots with slimy or bloody skulls; and bloody wood cutting axes, pickaxes and buckets. Waters of Whiterun run red with blood, and sawmills, wood chopping blocks and more are bloody.

In dungeons, along side the normal draugr, you'll find all-new bloody draugr--who are bathed in blood from head to toe--and new burnt draugr--who are scorched over every inch of their bodies!

The mod is large. To make sure it loads, after subscribing, restart Steam. Select Go Online. Wait for the Download progress bar at the bottom of Steam to finish. Launch Skyrim. Wait for the launch screen to say all mods finished syncing. Exit Skyrim to the desktop. Relaunch Skyrim. It should now be loaded.


Please report any bugs you think you find. After unsubscribing, if some actors aren't wearing clothes, fast travel away from them, wait a game day, and fast travel back. The actors should now be dressed normally. If you don't like the children's costumes, the Kid's Costume Fix mod will make them wear their normal clothes.

1. Start the Skyrim launcher
   
2. Wait for it to say all mods finished syncing
   
3. Select Data Files
   
4. Remove the checkmark next to this mod
   
5. Select OK and Play
