I see. being classified as a workbench, or a heater, or a pile of rubble doesnt affect anything with regards to pushing heat. The problem stems from the definition of heat pusher in the vanilla defs. the vanilla objects that push heat with it, the campfire and a torch, are set to destroy themselves whjen they run out of fuel. so it was never an issue to set it to need to stop producing heat when no more fuel. therefore the heat pusher never stops. the only alternative we as modders have is using the electric heater settings. but that in itself causes additional problems. the third solution is to write a new heat pusher code by adding another file with a .cs extension. but i cant find the origional heat pusher code to do that.

uhh...no, sadly that doesnt work like that. first of all I cant just change the class, bc its a workbench (cooking and the like) like the campfire, and second TempControl comp only adds a temperature control like the dials on the heater....

from what ive read, all you need is a few lines of code that change the
<li Class="CompProperties_TempControl">
depending on if it has fuel or not, same with how you change the light level.

yes i know someone else already pointed it out. I am looking into it but so far I have not found a solution. the fireplace should act like the campfire only that it doesnt disappear on empty fuel but somehow that makes it emit heat even after...idk yet maybe ill find something

possible bug; the fireplace continues to produce heat even when there is no fuel and is forbidden.

no I get what you are saying..but that is still a no. I made the decision and it stays that way. you were able to make krudnepp beds bc they are in the rustika tech tree which is open for tribals and tribal start without research...bc duh.
