Blastcore Edited (standalone version)

Description
*The original author of the Blastcore mod is Opticalsnare. He didn't update Blastcore more than a year. I could not find information about Blastcore license, I tried and could not contact Opticalsnare via Bohemia Interactive forum to ask for permission to modify it. Opticalsnare, if you read this and you don't like what I have done, please contact me via Steam and mod will be removed from Steam Workshop.

**Please, don't upload this mod on any other sites or hostings without permission (read above).

Blastcore is one of the best mods ever made for Arma series and it is a big loss for a lot of Arma players. Hope Opticalsnare return to continue his work on Blastcore mod series.

This version is standalone. You should not run Blastcore Edited (standalone) together with Blastcore Edited (a fix version). You don't need any other mods to run.

Set particles quality on High.

Dependencies: none

This mod is based on Blastcore: Phoenix with edits taken from Blastcore: Phoenix 2 and Arma 3 vanilla effects. This version fixes a lot of errors caused by Arma 3 updates and changes some of the effects. I have put a lot of work in it (more than a year), but not as much as Opticalsnare, of course.

You download this mod AS IS. Some effects may be broken or don't work at all. Test it on vanilla only. Effects may be broken with RHS mods or any other mods that uses custom or edited effects. Feel free to contact me if you find errors.

How are you all getting this to work? i keep getting a msg that it needs BlastcoreVEP - which seems to be nonexistent.

If you go through the comments I’ve answered this already, it’s a client side mod.

I have a small question, is this mod client side or server side ? Some people in my unit dont have the best PC's but the mod is too good not to use it so i'd like to know if it can work only clientside?

Hello Paladin, I'm asking for permission to include this mod in my server mod-pack.
I would include this mod without making any changes to it, credit would be given in the readme file.
Server is non-monetized.

So I tried to also put in Vanilla Smoke (above in description) but it says it needs Blastcore VEP. The only one I can find is an A2 mod. I didn't see anything about a dependency for VS either here or on the VS pages.

The file says its 89 mb but on arma3 launcher it only says 8mb. So it wont load correctly for me. Anyone know any solution?

I enjoy this add on, but is there a way to turn it off on certain items? Namely campfires and garbage can fires. It is just way to much for those items.

The problem with explosion particles in most of these sfx mods is that they fly through the air at the same speed as all of the other particles and for the whole duration of their flight. Particles have different drag coefficients, IRL, so some would slow down faster as they fly through the air, maybe not even flying a full arc, but "stalling" (like a plane) and then falling, end over end, straight down. If you fix this and then randomize the azimuth of the effect, the result would look quite chaotic and unpredictable.
