We already have the ability to convert biomatter into energy in the real world through a number of different bacterial breakdown methods. No reason the biomass from the industrial aliens processing centers should go to waste! put it into a energy processing center. Alien energy is renewable.

@Riesei: Thanks, but do not raise the output of the plants, 4 food is the double of the basic 2, this is the "betharian stone" of Food. Just make pets a bit more abundant please :-)
what about processing the overweight or slaves/ unusefull members of society into food or energy too?
ie the ability to purge- but turn organics into energy / minerals -- maybe a good option for a ai/ robot race playthrough ability. war of the worlds style. loose 1 population, gain 10 energy, and 10 resources.
