[EMD FL-9] The Bankers southbound, pt. 1

New Haven Springfield Line Scenarios

Description
The Bankers was one of several named express services of the New Haven RR that linked Springfield, MA to New York City's Grand Central Station. The Bankers left Springfield in the early morning, headed non-stop to Hartford, then on to New Haven with several stops along the way. After a few minutes in New Haven the train then headed non-stop to Grand Central.

This is the first of two parts of a scenario that put you in charge of this train. Part 1 will start in Springfield and end half an hour later in Hartford, where part 2 will then start.

The EMD FL-9 DLC and the Springfield Line DLC are required to play this scenario.

Recommendation: if you are looking for more challenging gameplay and modified sounds on the FL-9, please have a look at this sound & physics mod for the FL-9:

(requires the FL-9, P32 AC-DM and Pacific Surfliner DLCs)

It's a very nice scenario, I love old passenger trains with F units. Only it's a shame I came 36 seconds later and scenarion was incomplete. It's quite strict, I think I did what I can :-).

A lovely run and I managed to get on time, but would agree that the timings are very tight, but this just make it more interesting and a greater challenge. I did download the sound package and found no problems with it at all, just looking forward to pt2, many thanks for the excellent scenario, Bill B.

Thank you RolandBP, I had no idea that this sound/physics pack existed for the FL-9. What a welcome addition it is. (BTW, I also got the sound issues on other scenarios, not just approaching Hartford.)

I did some more searching and found also found this additional information about the sound/physics mod: http://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=13315
How on earth could I miss this? I visit RWA at least once a day. :-D

I'm particularly happy about these two entries:
"5. Fixed air brake application and release rates.
6. Adjusted brake pressures."
-- this will make the FL-9 scenarios The Bankers / The Connecticut Yankee a lot more challenging!

I'll add the link to the scenario descriptions. Thanks again for the information about this mod, RolandBP. :-)

Same here- Pt 2 was flawless, so there must be some issue with the F9 between Windsor locks and Hartford.

Just thought I would mention, the run on part 2 with the sound package mentioned below. "I had no sound cutting out". The Hancock Air Chime sounds nice from inside the cab or in the "Head-out" position, but is way too quiet in the Helicopter view. I am about to pass that message on to the sound provider.

Hi, thanks for a swift run to Hartford. I was almost 2 minutes late, so not a successful run. Will do part 2 later. I have just read the comments on the sound issues with this loco, I struck the same thing with this loco on this route several days ago and am about to try a sound package: {LINK REMOVED}

Hey guys, I also noticed the sound issue once I got to Hartford and in pt. 2
GreatNortherner  [author] Sep 9, 2016 @ 11:41am
Thanks for the nice words!

I got the sound cutting out issue too in one of my recent runs but I have no idea what could be causing this. Too many sounds / lack of memory maybe? I haven't noticed it with any other loco though, just the FL-9. Very strange.
