SCP Documentation number 751
Item: SCP-751
Object class: Euclid

Agent, there has been a containment breach at site C-751.
A very dangerous parasite known to us as SCP-751 has escaped due to the unprofessional care of Dr.---------- and his co-workers.
One of our interns, Dr. Alexander Fredricks, has gone missing as well. We believe that he is the one responsible for this breach.
Doctor --------- and Doctor Fredricks were trying to modify SCP-751 for use in organ transplants. Unfortunately, they decided not to follow our standard operating procedures. Anyone left on site is being tested for infection right now.
What concerns us the most, however, is SCP-751. It escaped by passing through the sink drain, and by now, it could be anywhere.
This is where you come in. Find SCP-751 and contain it by any means necessary. The more time you take, the harder it will be, so act accordingly.
We trust your judgement, so you have complete freedom on this mission.
Find Fredricks, kill or contain 751, and be careful!

You're dismissed.
P.S. Be sure to read file SCP-751 one more time to avoid any more accidents.

File SCP-751:
SCP-751 is an amorphous parasite that feeds of the organs of humans and other mammals. A fully grown entity can have a mass of approximately 2 kilograms.
It consists mostly out of an unknown organic substance with a gelatin-like consistency, with red veins running through it.
It has been confirmed that its blood contains a mixture of the former hosts blood along with varying anaesthetics and immunosuppressive drugs.

SCP-751 lives in damp environments such as fresh bodies of water, swamps and sewers. It will leave these environments when in search of a host.

It begins its feeding process by settling on top of a sleeping host’s torso and begins to enter through its skin by diffusion.
Anaesthetics will mix with the host’s blood at this time minimalizing the chance of the host waking up during the process.
Inside the host’s body it will come to rest in the stomach.
It will mimic the gastric walls by changing its composition to closely match the stomach within 2 to 3 hours, maintaining digestive processes.
Upon awakening of the host, no evidence of any incident can be found on the outside and the host will most likely continue its normal routine.

Over the course of the next 3 to 4 days, SCP-751 will consume the host’s stomach, using it to build up its own mass for further expansion.
It will very slowly expand to engulf and digest other organs in the host’s body, generally starting with the intestines and moving to the liver, kidneys and lungs.
It will adapt itself to mimic each of these organs in turn, maintaining all of the host’s bodily functions and releasing immunosuppressant chemicals to prevent rejection by the host’s body.
The whole process takes approximately one (1) whole month in a human host and longer in larger hosts (It is indeed very slow).
When SCP-751's feeding period is complete, after it has consumed every organ apart from the brain, it will then revert back to its original composition in a matter of minutes.
This process lowers its density considerably, causing it to swell to a size the host body can not contain.
The host skin will stretch and then burst while the host is still alive, releasing SCP-751.

The mass of SCP-751 with the size of the former host’s body will divide into 15 to 20 smaller entities.
Each of these will begin moving to the nearest damp area to grow in preparation for the hunt of their own host.

It is very slow but very hard to detect. When you suspect something, it may be already too late.

-------------------------------------------------

In this scenario you may find events that do not correspond with the lore of the SCP Foundation that NEVER revealed itself to the public.
But SCP-751 isn't an ordinary threat.
This time, the agents don't have another option....
(This is also a good way to fit the cure research in by making countries financially support the foundation and her agents, which is the main reason why I included this particular event).
And at the same time, scenario's are a way to add a new universe to the game, where some things are different.

--------------------------------------------------
I want to thank everyone for being so patient while I have been away for so long.
I simply lacked some inspiration and as most of the times: I found some at the SCP-Foundation site.
I hope you guys like this one as much as the ones I made in the past.
Happy Engulfing :D

Good Question, I can not speak for the author of the SCP, but I would imagine the SCP-751 entities would need to be a specific size to continue it's life cycle.
When they span the size of a human body, this works, but if they are as big as in normal situations, I would imagine them not being able to "split again" so to speak.

So yeah, I don't think a mouse would be a good host, maybe an opportinistic snack if the moment presents itself xD
But mammalian lifestock could be suitable hosts for sure!

sounds like SCP-751 isnt just deadly to humans but to all living creatures large enough to contain it or cant it get smaller to infect a mouse???

I think merging is easier as you only have to infect everyone.
