Description
An armored, and self repairing solar panel module that can withstand ordinance at low cost.

This first started as a research project and was later further developed to be more efficient. With correct placement of windows one can angle a solar panel at the sun without fear of it being destroyed.
$Discoverys:
$Windows are allowed to be placed directly on top of panels and do not affect max output.
$Diagonal windows cast such a small shadow that it does not affect solar panel output drastically

+Pros:
+Cheap diagonal windows which do not interfere with solar energy production are placed a block space above the panel. Meteors from all difficulties will not damage the priority items below as quickly as an exposed panel. Current panel production if left horizontal and at an acute angle to the sun, will produce 85 KW.
+Completely self building and self repairing. Simply slap it on to a current conveyor system, weld a welder or projector and the rest is automatic.
+A welder and projector system to quickly build any lost armor or panels itself.
+If you wish to conserve on energy from using the welders (any module system added will take about 1/4 of the current power if left on), a timer block has been added that will turn on and off the welder systems at user designated times (default is 1 second). This is an unintended side effect of implementting the timer block to fix an issue with the welders not doing their job consistently.
+Modular design allows for attaching additional solar panel sets to the current ones.
+Re-designed to take up less space if deciding to modulate and expand the panels.
+Windows are angled so that any enemy looking directly at it will not be able to easily see whats behind the windows
+Conveyor system works in all 4 directions.
+Panels can withstand armageddon meteors and rockets.
+All items have been correctly grouped and hidden. Future modules added can all be controlled by the groups.
+NO MODS!!!

-♥♥♥♥:
-The panels are NOT indestructible. Various tests have led me to find that certain angles of meteor/rocket contact with the windows is capable of destroying the panel itself, and perhaps some welder systems. While the system is now designed to be automatic and self sufficient, there is a chance that human interaction may be needed for repairs.
-Depending upon the location and angle of which a meteor hits, it is possible for the armored windows to become dislocated. This is an issue as not only may disconnected portions be undetected by users, the welder system will repair it instead of repairing the overall structure leaving open gaps for projectiles to come in and do greater damage.
-Due to the increase in welders used (there are 11 now), the design may be a bit more expensive.

~UPDATES (+2):
~Redesigned for taking up smaller space for improved modular designs, self sufficiency, and self building.

~UPDATES (+1):
~Fixed an issue with the windows not being fully displayed.
~Blueprints Should now have the welders automatically turn on.

@The Issue: So playing survival I wanted to have difficulty set so I could enjoy a meteor challange. The issue? Building a survival friendly spawn that is not going to get destroyed/lose power because it lacks the maintenance of players or materials. Meteors are always problematic as not only do they destroy everything in their vicinity but the targets they hit can be VERY costly such as solar panels. Initally I was going to develop a script that would rotate a solar panel so heavy armor blocks could shield the blow. However, there are no scripts that can control what to do when a meteor is in the vicinity (someone would need to take coding that controls the automatic turrets and implement them into the blocks). Thus i was forced to look for a second approach which was putting something stationary in between it. The idea was to have welders repair the armor while light is still able to reach to the panel.

Wat I said is there is no conveyer system feeding the welders

You werent exactly clear on the conveyor system you had in mind but i went ahead and did what i think was favorable =\

Heavy armor would be a good start on the exposed top portions. I can look into ways to include a conveyor system, however i do have work at the moment so i will not be able to do this immediately

And some conveyer system to feet the welder

How about have welder reparinv projector and other projectors projecting the entire thing, and use heavy armour instead

Im glad you think so! =D
Enjoy it!
