Best way to combat this is make a ceiling. It also wouldn't hurt to make the pull-string trap door higher than the balloon. Since there is a placable pulley, which acts as an pseudo-anchor point directly below the right side of the teeter totter, the weight of the twig can still pull downward and make the balloon hit the switch. If I placed the pulley where the official solution suggests, can't do that crazy solution anymore. Also, this exposes some failings with plug-in parts, open to exploits.
I'll make a puzzle that revolves around the clever work-around I found. Thank you for the inspiration.
