Warcraft - The Forsaken

Description
Adds the Forsaken led by Sylvanas Windrunner from the Warcraft Universe to the game.
Requires Brave New World DLC.

v2:
- The mod now has functionality to allow the AI to create plagues, however, this is still disabled by default (because it can potentially be very annoying). See "Customization" below to find out how to activate it if you want to.
- Fixed Customization-Options that weren't working properly.
- Fixed the problem of Unlocks not being displayed correctly when a savegame was loaded.
- A few Plagues have had their costs adjusted.
- The maximum amount of Essence that can be stored is now 150 by default (was 100).
- Changed the Artstyle from Asian to European
- Now has a proper Map Image
- Civilopedia-Entry (Civilization) now works properly

The Forsaken are strongest when played offensively and with a wide Empire to generate a lot of Essence of Blight to create Plagues that damage the Economy and Combat Strength of other Major Civilizations.

AI
I think it would be VERY annoying if the AI threw around plagues that players have to deal with, so I decided that the AI does not use this system. Instead, I have decided to remove the Growth Penalty from AI-Forsaken, while keeping the Chance to gain population from Kills. The AIs Flavors push them towards a wide empire and an offensive Playstyle, which can make them a very strong competitor, as they can gain Population whenever they kill opponents.

However, as of v2 this mod now contains the code required to allow the AI to use plagues. This functionality is disabled by default, you can however activate it by enabling the option in the Customization-File (as described in the section below).

Customization
This Mod has been designed to allow Players to scale many numbers the way they want. To do so, go to the Mod Folder:

Documents\my games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Warcraft - The Forsaken (v X)

Open the File Nysa_ForsakenOptions.lua with a Text Editor and follow the Instructions in that File (very easy).
That File also has 2 "Cheat Codes" specific to this Civilization if you are into that.

Soundtrack
(Titles as found in the WoW-Game Files)

Peace:
'Lament of the Highborne'
'undercity01_zone'
'undercity02_zone'
'undercity03_zone'
'DayEvilForest01'

War:
'Forsaken H'

If you dislike the music simply delete the Music-Folder in:
Documents\my games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Warcraft - The Forsaken (v X)\Art\

The game will then use the default music theme.

About killing people and raising them as Forsaken...
The Chance of gaining free Population after killing enemy units is based on a Formula that prevents Empires from growing Super-Big later on, while at the same time having a somewhat reliable outcome early on. The exact Forumla is really easy to understand:

BasicChance - (AverageCityPopulation * 2)

The BasicChance is 40%, well 38%, given that your Average Population in all Cities will always be at least 1. That means that, if you have 2 Cities, one with 10 Population and 1 with 8 (making it 9 Population on average) your Chance to get free Population after killing a unit is:

40 - (9 * 2) = 22%

Credits
- Blizzard (All Musik has been taken directly from World of Warcraft and all Artwork has been created by using Assets from that game.)
- JFD (I copy-pasted some of his XML-Tables)

Enjoy!

Aww. As someone who doesn't typically buy DLC this mod makes it oh so tempting to do so. See I bought this game because my housemates were all playing one night. I don't really do well in these games, but this Mod makes me really want to.

The only growth-related effect associated with this Civ is the -20% City Growth Trait which is only applied once when the game is started (and cannot stack). So I don't think the growth penalty is caused by this mod.

Was playing modded Civ with friends and on turn 240ish my friend, who is playing this civ, started getting an increasingly large empire growth penalty, it got to around -245% by the time we decided to give up.

If we want to change the chance for pop increase how would we do that?

Great mod. I am loving it. Now the -20% growth rate is ether very weak or very strong. Depending on how lady luck rewards you. I have had games where the free pop was popping like candle. While I also have had games where it rarely popped. I was wondering if there a way to make the pop spawning a more normalized event. Like a counter and not a random event. Have to kill like 10 enemy units to get one free pop. Right now the random pop spawn is ether over powered or under powered.

If you get the luck that like every other barb you kill. You will find your self out scaling the AI fast. While if you are getting a pop for every 100 units you kill. You will fall behind from the -20 growth rate.
