Description
Miyagi Polynesia Gen II
You can use this theme with any originally tropical map you would like to. This is a complete replacement for the previous Polynesia theme, with all sorts of improvements and fixes. It has been completely remade (because updating the first was not working), now with a few higher quality textures, elimination of problems like that ugly road texture issue and bright gravel issue. thanks to a bit more experience and lots of help from the community. I hope it is nicer, and please do let me know if you have any feedback, it's a learning process!

UPDATE 9 - Feb 4 2018. New textures: grass, ruined, gravel, ore, oil, water, water foam.
- No more green ruined on sand. (use Polynesia Pure Grass or Surface Painter mod if you want totally green lawns).

UPDATE 8 - Apr 4 2017: No longer needs Daylight Classic to use! Even so, with Daylight Classic it still looks great: it has a deeper green, reminiscent of Moorea. Either way, less eye pain for both vanilla and DC players.
- Total rebalance to vanilla (default) color and lighting.
- Textures improved, adjusted to new lighting and replaced: Wave Foam, Water Normal, Cliff, Cliff Normal, Ruined
- Lighting exposure adjusted to vanilla lighting
- Water color in tropical based biomes is still a major frustration.

Update 7 -
1. Disasters: configured disaster probabilities to match South Pacific region.
2. Visuals, lighting and colors - Currently adjusting colors and light levels to look correct with no mod and no LUT. Please be patient while the transition is in progress, and if you still use Daylight Classic you can experiment with turning off Classic Sunlight Intensity and Classic Sunlight color. Finding a nice LUT can also help.
3. New Water Foam added

Update 8
1. Improvements in cliff texture, 3D normal now matches cliff
2. New ruined texture
2. Ocean color tweaks

Mozza nothing to forgive!! I'm glad to help. Welcome to the Collective, now say goodbye to your social life. :winter2019joyfultearssnowman:

There is a bit to learn about the workshop and the game - when people run into problems with performance or crashes etc, it's almost always going to be something related to workshop stuff. The game itself is rock solid. It's when we try to add too much stuff or mods that conflict with each other that we bork our own game. :D

Hi Mozza, yes, very much so. Look at the top right of this page, file size. This is one of the smallest at 28MB. You'll want to check that number when looking at Map Themes because some reach into the 170MB range :surprised_yeti:

Unrelated but also helpful to users with low spec computers: if you don't already use it, Loading Screen Mod will optimize your game's usage of your RAM, and can allow you to block the loading of vanilla assets you don't like (which saves a LOT of RAM).

Another way to optimize your game and reduce RAM use is to disable any DLC you don't want to use in your current city, and reducing texture quality to medium. Hope these tips help you enjoy the game more!

Hi, is this theme suitable for low spec devices?
MrMiyagi  [author] Mar 7, 2021 @ 9:30am
Hi @deborah_alonzo, Yup! All map themes will work for everyone in all versions of the game and all DLCs except Snowfall map themes, which require Snowfall. :)

Maps are the same unless they are Snowfall or contain mod-required content which is no longer working. Those are rare maps, though.

Does it work with Sunset Harbor?

You're welcome! I loved making my cities on this kind of environment. Vacation without the cost.

I really love this theme, it fits tropical island mountain so much, especially for Hawaii. Thank you!

Hi, yes, you can use this one and there are also other very nice map themes that will go with that map.
