[WotC] Mod Config Menu

Tactical Legacy Pack compatibility update

My testing is showing that Mod Config Menu is compatible out of the box and should be safe to use with no updates. I will continue testing over the next several days, but, as far as I can tell, everyone should be able to just continue using this mod.

If you are experiencing compatibility issues, as always, feel free to notify me in the comments.

This mod (MCM) is a shared settings menu. Some mods require this mod in order for you to use the in-game configuration menus.

For full details on using this mod, troubleshooting, or even building your own mods to use this menu, visit: https://github.com/andrewgu/ModConfigMenu

This version has been updated for War of the Chosen. For a version compatible with the base game, look for "Mod Config Menu Legacy" here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1122831824

Latest Update:

- Updated for the fall patch.

Previous Update:

- Now updated for War of the Chosen.
- Go here for the legacy version for the original base game: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1122831824

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to report issues with MCM. It obviously sucks if the options menu, of all things, is what's breaking your game, and I'd like to get these issues addressed ASAP. However, it's next to impossible for me to test every version of every mod that also uses MCM, so I need your help as well to troubleshoot issues.

If you are seeing graphical glitches or problems transitioning between Avenger/Missions, please check two very specific details for me and let me know the result in your comment:

1. If you turn off all mods except MCM, does the problem still happen?
2. Does the problem happen only after you've visited the Options screen, only after you've visited the Mod Options screen, or regardless of whether you've visited either screen?

Because of how extensively MCM interacts with other mods and how certain UI components interact, these two details will help me a lot with pinpointing the problem.

I just completed a WOTC campaign with 104 mods including this one. It all went well.

Hey @mustyyyyy, MCM doesn't do anything to either your savegames or the game files that Steam verifies. Neither do most other mods. What you're running into is a problem that XCom 2 mods deal with in general: game file corruption, and the fact that savegames will complain about removed mods. That's why Dragon32's links are general troubleshooting advice, including advice on how to avoid these issues in the future.

I appreciate that you are trying to warn other players about your issue. The XCom 2 modding community tries their best to make sure everything is reliable and easy for players, but keep in mind that you are *modding*. It's the wild west. Sometimes you have to troubleshoot.

By the way, Dragon32, I highly appreciate you taking the time to add detailed troubleshooting guidance.

It works fine, read those links I posted for Xedeth.

Also, IIRC, some mods which use MCM say you have to restart the game after setting their options in MCM

Do you have War of the Chosen?
Some great Mod Troubleshooting advice.
That recommends the excellent Community Mod Launcher [github.com], which everyone who uses mods should be using.
This guide gives some more detailed advice on using the Community Mod Launcher: Troubleshooting: Mods not working properly / at all
If you've just switched from the Firaxis Launcher, or are forced to use it, read the "Mods not activating/deactivating properly in WOTC" section of Mod not working? Mods still have their effects after you disable them?
If you're using the Community Highlander then read its specific troubleshooting advice [github.com].
