ATTENTION: This mod was updated to support build 41 ! If this causes issue with build 40, please unsubscribe and use the manual download version of this mode found below.

Adds a Silencer / Suppressor as a weapon part that can be attached to Pistols, and Rifles. It reduces the sound the gun makes by 90% but slightly lowers max range and chance to hit .

Spawn Locations:
Good chance in gun store, police station, hunting areas.
Small chance in Crates, metal shelves and lockers in all areas.

you can craft a home made silencer from a pipe or flashlight with saw, screwdriver and a few aiming skill points. This home made silencer does not work as well as the real one and lowers chance to hit and max range more than the real silencer as well.

As with any other attachment, YOU NEED A SCREWDRIVER to attach or remove it.

Can this be used with any gun in vanilla?

Great mod, can't understand why silencers isn't in vanilla.

ALSO: after reloading the world after removing the mod the sounds do fix themselves, BUT my mag i ejected from my M14 was still an M16 in my inv; M14 taking M14 mags again though.
So, is otherwise safe to just uninstall mid-game in case that was a concern for anyone

So. I subbed to this half-asleep thinking it'd be fine since 5 stars, right?
Well, never has a mod made me so furious so fast. Have been working on clearing out the Rosewood prison for a short while now & thought a silencer would be good to have at some point. However, since I had only a short time to play PZ w/the husband today, I opted to deal w/that later. Cue me using my M14 in a busy hall only to see that my M14 is requiring M16 mag w/5.56 ammo. Had to switch between very long range M788 & 2 short range 9mm AND suffer the mod's (w/out silencer) gun sounds: w/VERY low quality, low volume for some reason

Reloading had a fan noise every time with the actual reload souds being loud asf; both guns were poor & low when fired, sounding like Nerf peashooters (seemingly made no noise to others). Got rid of the mod as soon as we left the prison.

Don't bother with this mod until it is actually updated proper; CAN get you killed if you are caught by off-guard by current nonsense issues

As of Feb, 07, 2024 This mod no longer works. DO NOT GET THIS MOD! You equip the silencer from this mod and the guns stay super loud.

If you want a silencer mod, Just use "Improvised silencers mod" by Max. The silencer in that mod actually works and the sound is not as loud at all.
