Description
Compatible with CK2 2.5.2

Removes Defensive Pacts as Threat decays 100% per month, max. threat per single source set to 1 (from 50) and set only huge realms viable as valid defensive pact target.

I honestly like defensive pacts. I just think they have horrible threat decay timers, and sometimes gain too much threat over small conquests in CK2

I have discontinued this mod because an option to turn off defensive pacts now exists within game rules when you start a campaign.

This is great, it's sad that we have to resort to mod to have a playable game as Paradox refuse to stop turning CK 2 into a EU clone.

You can twist and turn it all you want but it just doesn't belong in a 8-11th century game, things were much more chaotic back then and while allies was a thing, imagine all of scandinavia forming a defensive pact it's not just unlikely it would never happen, there was too much dispute and fights within for this to happen.

This is arguably the worst thing Paradox has ever introduced into any game.

Is it possible to get this but without the 100% decay rate? Maybe 1% per month or something? I still like this but it feels too OP, but its the only mod of its kind that I've found.

Honestly, Ive tried to playthrough Conclave and create a Russian Empire/reform the Roman Empire as the Byzantines from the 769 start, and I honestly get what they were going for with the new defensive pact system, but man its absolutely ridiculous how slow threat decays. Im playing as good ol' William the Conqueror and conquered England but it gave me 15% threat, guess how long it would take me for it to go back to 0%,,,,,,,242 months. Also, the other big issue with it is other countries with different religions can form a pact after a certain percentage which is really game breaking considering its a time period where religious differences had extreme wieght.

Anyways, sorry for the rant but what Im trying to get at is with this mod, I can finally not worry too much about threat until I get extremely huge. Thank you so much for making it! :steamhappy:
