Description
Gives you better combat perks when you don't wear a helmet!
You took a lot of time to make your new character's face look great. So why cover it up? The obvious answer: There's no advantage to going helmetless in the vanilla game. Well, this mod changes that! It lets you get armor perks with or without wearing a helmet. You also do 10% more damage with bows and 5% more damage with all other weapons when you wear no helmet. Now you have a reason to show your fabulous face!

WHY THE MOD IS NEEDED

In the vanilla game, there are Heavy Armor and Light Armor perks, which require you to wear a helmet. Take your helmet off, the perk effects vanish. With this mod, you can now remove your helmet and still get the perks! But that's not all: When you don't wear a helmet, you should see better and be a better shot with a bow. So going helmetless now lets your arrows do more damage! In the heat of battle, the better you see, the better you spot a foe's weakness. So going without a helmet now increases the damage of your melee weapons.

With all these new advantages, why wear a helmet? Well, it does prevent hammers from cracking open your skull! The point: If you want extra protection, wear a helmet. If you want to deal more damage, take it off. Whether or not you cover up your vibrantly valiant visage is all up to you! Isn't having the choice the way it should be?

HOW IT WORKS

The mod modifies existing Heavy Armor, Light Armor, One Handed, Two Handed and Archery perks by either removing the requirement to wear a helmet, or by increasing damage done with your weapons when you don't wear one. But if you choose to wear a helmet, there's no penalty.

❖ Archery Perks
  • Overdraw Level 1: Deal 20% more damage with two-handed weapons (30% more if not wearing a helmet).
  • Overdraw Level 2: Deal 40% more damage with bows (50% more if not wearing a helmet).
  • Overdraw Level 3: Deal 60% more damage with bows (70% more if not wearing a helmet).
  • Overdraw Level 4: Deal 80% more damage with bows (90% more if not wearing a helmet).
  • Overdraw Level 5: Deal 100% more damage with bows (110% more if not wearing a helmet).

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q. Does the mod add new perks to the perk trees?
A. No, it enhances existing ones.

Q. How do I know the better armor perks work?
A. Easy! If you have one of the armor perks, dress in a matching set of armor (including a helmet), then open the Items menu and look at the armor value for each item you're wearing. Now take off the helmet and look at the armor value for each item, again. It should not be reduced.

Q. How do I know the better weapon perks work?
A. Also easy! If you have one of the weapon perks, put on a helmet, then open the Items menu and look at the damage value for your weapons. Now take off the helmet and look at the damage value for each weapon, again. It should now be 10% greater if a bow, and 5% greater if another weapon.

Q. Will I get the better perks if I wear a circlets or hoods.
A. Yes.

Q. What happens if I unsubscribe?
A. Armor and weapon perks return to normal. Going helmetless will have no advantage.

love this mod for the fact that it doesn't just invisible your helmet but gives you a real reason to decide whether or not to wear one outside of aesthetics.

@Mutant , The answer is NO, putting on a helmet of the opposite class will DISABLE the perk. Only helmetless, clothing helm (hood, circlet), or matching class helmet will work.
If you want to have a helmet of the opposite class use https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=7665 . It doesn't have the helmetless bonuses that this one does, but it does allow 1 item to be of a different class.

how do the mod process information about helmets that doesn't match the set wearing ?
does it cancel the perk, or is it still activated if you wear something else than a matching helmet ? (for example, full heavy set, and a light helmet)
