Warning!

It's very likely you are going to die!

I mean it.

Most of these monsters are really hard, and you are very likely to die. Do not face these bosses unless you are sure you are going to win. Always have a escape plan for when things go bad (like an Ice Staff or a Telelocator Staff). A boss' loot is not worth your life!

Its attacks will destroy pretty much anything in small area.

Deerclops aims to destroy all structures and then leave. Note that the only structures counted are the ones targeted by the Deerclops directly - collateral damage is not counted, meaning many more structures may be destroyed before the Deerclops is finished.

  • Blubber (2)

  • Bone Shards (4)

  • Harpoon (1)

  • Raw Fish (4)

  • Randoms items (9)
General Strategy
Most monsters are slow, so they can be kited, a process by which the player attacks, moves away to avoid an attack, then attacks again.

Ranged weapons like Darts or Staffs are also useful, as most Monsters only have melee attacks. And be sure to have some good armor before entering a fight!

Another good strategy is luring the Monster to other enemies, making them take the hits while you attack from afar. Pigs will attack Monsters on sight. Beefalos will attack only if provoked, unless they are in heat, in which case they will attack any non-Beefalo creature.

Note: Monster attacks to much more damage to mobs than to the player

Here is a list of useful weapons.

Melee weapons

  • Cutlass Supreme (68 damage - 34 extra damage against the Sealnado) - basic melee attacks

  • Dark Sword (68 damage) - basic melee attacks

Ranged weapons

  • Blow Dart (100 damage) - basic attack from afar

  • Fire Dart (100-150 damage) - attacks set the target on fire

  • Poison Dart (0 damage) - poisons the target

  • Sleep Dart (0 damag) - puts the target to sleep (may need various hits)

  • Harpoon (200 damage) - can be thrown an target, after hitting will drop on the ground

  • Ice Staff (0 damage) - freezes the target on place (may need various hits)

  • Fire Staff (100-150 damage) - set the target on fire

Other weapons

  • Coconade (100 damage) - explodes after 5 seconds of being lit

  • Obsidian Coconade (150 damage) - explodes after 5 seconds of being lit

  • Gunpowder (200 damage) - can be tricky to use as you'll have to light it up, get away so you don't take the damage, and wait until it blows up. If you want to use Gunpowder, try to hit first with an Ice Staff to freeze the target, then set the Gunpowder to explode.

  • Old Bell (1000 damage) - call the Bigfoot to stomp the area, it's not very accurate and has quite a delay. Try freezing or traping Monster before using it.

Nice guide, but I would give honorable mention to Poison Birchnut Tree, as it is fairly unique enemy with few types of attack.

Not sure about the Palm Treeguards (since I dont have SW) but you can hit 4 times on a regular Treeguard without being hit, but you can hit 3 times if you want to be safe, just will take a few more seconds.
