About the archive
The AWB/AFS2 format do not store the name nor the extension of the files it contains. Therefor, this tool extract them as XXXXXXXX.bin. To identify the format of those files, you may want to check their magic number.

If you plain to use this tool only for its original purpose, you just need to change the extension of the file by using the following command: "ren *.bin *.adx" (windows only). You can then use the appropriate player to listen to those tracks (foobar2000, VLC, Winamp...).
About the ADX format
For the custom songs to play properly, you need to convert them. WAV2ADX will do the job (be aware that this piece of software is not from me).

Remember that a lot of tracks need to loop, and for the music to loop correctly, you will need to find the precise moment when the loop starts and ends. This is a tricky part that can take some time.
Notice that the values you need to enter are not the duration but the sample. So, if the loop starts at, let's say, 0:14.39, and the sample rate is 44.1 kHz, the correct value would be around 634599 (44100 * 14.39).
Troubleshooting
ADX2WAV.EXE and WAV2ADX.EXE may not work properly if the path contains spaces. You can "fix" this by moving them to the root of your hard drive.

Doesn't work, I have a "bad magic number" error when trying to extract a file in CLI.

I used the repacker, but when it created the new AWB all the file names were scrambled up, is there a way to fix this and keep the original file name?

@Aifread The tracks not being ordered correctly isn't the issue, because they don't work anyway, the game doesn't recognize the AWB file made by the repacker I think, so none of the tracks play in-game.

Also, nothing in the files tells you how to order the tracks correctly, or use the repacker for that matter.

@Crimson Eyes

My first thought is that you probably repacked them by running the .exe from file explorer which won't order the tracks correctly. From what I remember you have to run it from command line.

I'm trying to replace 1 track in Bravely Default II which stores BGMs in an AWB file, and the BGMs are all in HCA format (I use 'eternity audio tool' to open the AWB file and see/extract/replace what's inside it).

The problem is when I replace 1 track (with another from the same BGM list) it breaks all tracks that come after it. So the track is #18, when I change it, all tracks from #19 to #122 stop working (but they work again if I restore the original #18 track).

I have no idea why this happens. Tried your repacker and it didn't work. Can I even change BGM tracks in this case?

I am WAY too stupid to understand what to do

AWB_unpacker.exe does nothing? I don't know how it's supposed to look like when it does anything, it opens cmd for a split second and then nothing, what does it do
the file is there, I put it there, I can't seem to use AWB_unpacker.exe

Thanks for the guide. I wanted to extract an .awb from another game, and I manged to get it running. I was unable to extract it to wav, but all I wanted was to play on my media player (foobar2000). So I renamed the .bin file to .adx manually, I just wanted two songs anyway.

I have several components on foobar2000 and apparently the .adx file ran just fine without having to download anything from what I already had.
