CP G.I. Joe

Description
CP of G.I. Joe characters, based on classic representations, very accurate, with original file card detail in bios.

UPDATED 7-4-2017!
- Tweaks to existing: Most importantly here, using the new Snake Eyes visor. Some other tweaks, mostly small things this time. Mustaches improved for Wild Bill, Recondo, Gung-Ho! :D
- New Joes added: Windmill, Budo, Backstop added. Reworked Taurus and Red Dog from scratch, since they had gone missing. Made Sightline too.
- New Cobras added: Darklon, B.A.T.s
- Futzed around with the organization of the pieces again...separated out the different sub-teams so that the regular pool of Joes is 'pure'. Apocryphal group is for non-canon Joes. Storm Shadow moved to the 'Friends' pool, since his placement is ambiguous. Cobra minions separated from characters.

Included currently:

Numerous others planned in all categories.

It is highly recommended that this pool is played with Long War 2; the dynamics make it 'feel' more like GI Joe. With this in mind, I have reassigned the classes of the Joes in the pool. They draw from:
- The eight standard LW2 classes
- The LW2 Alien Hunter class
- The LW2 Gunslinger class
- The LW2 Samurai class
- The LW2 Shadow Ops group of classes
- The old Rogue class

I expect to change their roles as time goes on and expansion classes are created. Eventually I will make my own class overrides, but for now, I have prepared this document, similar to the old one, that lists the soldiers and their builds in the roles that they are given in the character pool.

I have also created a tumblr gallery in which I am uploading the characters one at a time, whenever I get around to it:
http://xcom2-joes.tumblr.com/

There are a series of videos on my YouTube channel documenting some of this:

Mods used to create these characters:
Please see the updated requirements section. Note that the items on this list are COSMETIC only. No gameplay or UI mods are necessary for this character pool to work. I realize that this is a heavy load; we are looking into the possibility of repackaging just the pieces used as a single group of assets for some future update.

Mods suggested for play styles:
Weapon Mods:
There are many conventional weapons available; the most useful is the CV Weapons Pack that rolls up numerous releases.
To get the pool to behave the right way:
- Use My Class
- Character Pool VIPs
- Load from Character Pool
- Starting Soldiers
- when using Starting Soldiers, you'll modify a .ini file in that mod to be the way you want it. I have provided a copy of mine in the excel sheet, on the tab called 'starting'

The characters depicted in this mod are copyrighted ultimately by Hasbro; inspiration is drawn most heavily from the first appearance of each action figure, along with the original run of Marvel comics and the Sunbow TV show.

The XCOM Alternative Mod Launcher 1.4.1 is always crashed when using this mod.

BTW all, in addition to that Tumblr gallery, which is more likely to be browsed by my teenager than by any of us, I have also started a Facebook page to use as a photo gallery:

I'm pretty much putting up the same material...it's stuff I'm getting from the photobooth after missions using the WOTC pack. I'm quite pleased with the results.

Okay, pinged you Ethan...you should be able to get to it through my page. LeMarteau has been helping me check things too, and he was able to get everything to work. We're finding that the starting soldiers are also available for recruitment even after they are in the armory, but that's the only bug so far. Not sure what the solution for it is...it may be something that can't be helped. I'm going to give it probably this week to continue testing, and will make it live next weekend.

id like to test out a wotc version!

Yeah, unfortunately I think that this vanilla/LW2 version has gone as far as it's likely to. The new one is waaay better though, and it's only a matter of time before the LW play style is available for WOTC. In the end I want to go with what's going to give us the best results.

I saw your YT vids and the new artwork options in WOTC are great! Shame LW2 isn't compatible with it yet.

So who is playing WOTC and wants to test out the new mod before I make it public?

Yeah, just like Musashi added the SpecOps and Samurai power sets into the RPG overhaul, GreatestKraken has been adding some from the old ‘Richards’ set...he’s also added the ‘biotics’ set this week, which covers a bunch of weirder stuff. He’s going to put in the Architect too, which I want for Tollbooth in particular. Also the gauntlet/rockets got added in. I’m setting it up so these custom classes have access to as many powers as we can, to start, then we can dial it back from there.
