Albion Pride Remodeled + FoV Change

Description
UPDATE: Because of the added files to the 3D model of the Skunk default cockpit - the UI change is no longer working. However - FoV change is still working as before

Removes the top portion of the cockpit and clears up the interior for better viewing angles.

Works with the default "Pride MK1" - Skunk cockpit only.

WARNING: Make sure to backup your config.xml file before any changes. Messing with high FoV values will break your UI so keep it up to 1.3 max. I find 1.2 to be perfect (1.0 is default).

Open your config.xml file located in Documents\Egosoft\X Rebirth\{yourID} and scroll all the way to the bottom. You need to add a single line of code as below BEFORE the ending </root> tag:

<fov>1.2</fov>

The only issue I've seen so far is the side-console being displayed incorectly due to changed camera position. If you're using the HUD placement of the menus - you will have no issues.

Skunk is already incredibly ugly; FOV setting is MUCH better a feature to exist in game than any improvement on skunk's looks. I wish they'd revert that change instead of this mod being forgotten.

Yes I'm aware. Tried it myself. Looks like Egosoft added some more stuff to the Skunk 3D model. This would require some file digging to disable them. But it really heavily depends on how complex the new model is. If the same part takes out half the canopy - this mod might not be working with the new version at all

To add to my previous comment, I also reverted from 4.1 beta to 4.0 and mod worked fine.

Having issues with 4.10 beta 4. When mod is activated there appears to be space debri embedded in the CP window and bringing up any info panel results in blank black screen (i.e pulling up sector map)

Ah ok. Yeh I'm just new to the game. I waited for many updates to buy this one haha.. At least I know now anyway. Thanks again ;)

It's not a problem so don't worry. Also - pretty much most of the mods work that way so people know it already :)

If you're using the latest version of the game, it might be using the compressed version of the saves. That means each .xml is actually inside an archive file. Just extract it out and edit it. After you do - compress it back and name it the same way the original was.

So, go to C:\Users\[yourname]\Documents\Egosoft\X Rebirth\[yourID]\save and double click the save_001.xml.gz (you'll need some archiving software like winrar, 7zip or winzip). Take the .xml out, edit it and you should find the line in there

I'm not able to view the save file properly with a text editor. It's just all random sybols that don't make sense. Tried with Notepad and Notepad++. You're talking about the save file found within the documents folder, right? I'm not aware of any other ones. Thanks again.
