Horten Ho 229

Hello Engineers, welcome to the Horten Ho 229! This is a WW2 German Concept flying wing light bomber (Designed by the Horten brothers) that was introduced and verified as a viable fighter with its first flight in 1941, but it wasn't publicly announced, only a few people knew of the project. Later after many tests the Ho 229 was included in the Jager-Notprogramm(Emergency Fighter Program) for accelerated production of inexpensive "wounder weapons".

The Horton Ho 229 prototype was in the works and also many other variants such as day fighters and night fighters and the Horten 18 nuclear bomber (designed to drop a Nuclear bomb on an american city like Washington). Before any of them could be made, the Allies were closing in on the Horton Brothers location with Operation Paperclip (an effort to capture advanced German weapons research so the soviets wouldn't obtain it).

The Horten brothers fled before the Allies came, leaving an almost completed Horten 229 behind and later being discovered by the Allies and later shiped to the USA (1945). the Horten Ho 229 would be considered the first stealth bomber ever, and a primary inspiration for all future stealth fighter/bombers!

I always love crazy concepts but this was ahead of its time by decades, I had fun building and flying it and I hope you enjoy it too!

Update: Now has better extending landing gears, beacon, now has only batteries and no reactors
