Performance Fixes (Up to 60+ fps)

As of release my game ran below 30fps on lowest settings.
A simple fix for me was to lower my resolution from 1920x1080 --> 1280x720.
I can now run the game on highest settings and it doesnt even look bad.
Also make sure to set your priority to high in task manager.

All of the frame increases are labeled as "Maximum". Most of these have been tested by Nvidia. These Settings helped me and I hope they help you.


Turning The LOD Down Seems To Increase Fps As Well.

Other fixes include (with Maximum reported fps gain) :

Nvidia users set antialiasing to FXAA (10fps+)

Turn off global illumination (20fps+)

Turn off screen space reflections (20+fps)

SSAO off (10fps+)

Most settings in this besides resolution and global illumination are meant to increase your fps without a huge quality loss. Some results show that most of the actual quality settings (textures or effects) can be set to high without reducing performance by more than 5-10 fps.

Set Your Game To Offline

Some users report that turning off online notifications can impact performance and can be overall "Less Annoying".

1.Open Windows Firewall
2. Advanced Settings
3. Outbound Rules
4. Click "New Rule"
5. Click browse under program
5. Navigate to your steam folder and find your justcause3.exe
6. Block Connection

What Worked For Me

1. Pause Your Game

2. Go Into Settings>Graphics

3. Lower Your Resolution to Whatever works for you.

4. Enjoy

1. Open Task Manager

2. Right Click Just Cause 3 And Select "Go To Details"

3. Right click again

4. Set the Priority to "Above normal" or "High"

Borderless Windowed Modes On Launch

To get borderless windowed mode:

1.Right-Click the game in your Steam Library
2.Click Properties and then Set Launch Options.
3. enter “/borderless /windowed” command. (No Quotation Marks)
4. Click "Ok"

Start the game and turn-off full screen in the options menu

1.Right-Click the game in your Steam Library

Make Sure Your Drivers Are Up To Date

On the day of release companys like Nvidia or AMD tend to release new drivers optimized for the game. This can make a BIG Difference.

Uhhh, lowering your resolution is not that unique a fix to make a guide about it.

Worked pretty well except for the firewall rule. There is at least a setting ingame to disable the leaderboards and that has improved performance to a degree.

It's fine now, but I had to disable the firewall rule because the game wouldn't launch because it couldn't connect to the game servers. So now I have to play with the atrocious online nonsensical junk rubbish crap of ultimate annoyance features.
