The 150mm sits in the same spot as the 170mm, and that was future upgrade designs. Once it was realized how fast they were loosing, they just wanted to get a massive well armored and armed vehicle on the field as a mobile bunker. The Jagdtiger was as close as they got. In the rush, it was decided that since the Maus turret was already in production (sort of) that they would just mount a Maus turret and the 128mm for a 'placeholder' if you will.'

Exactly, but what really makes me mad is how they said they "Added the E-100". Well, they kind of did. They got 50% of it right. The actual prototype plans called for a different turret, it wasnt that much more armored. Only slightly sloped and 250mm of armor. What it really was for is to mount the 150MM gun on it. Even in war thunder, the size of the shell would just turn it into an uber-derp gun if needed, and could probably fire an amazing HEAT round.

Depends on which turret you measure. Since the turret on the first one (which had 240mm) was destroyed, the Soviets just mounted the second Maus turret (which was 20mm thinner on the turret front) on the first hull. Either way, that extra 20mm may stop a few rounds, but not all the APDS and HEATFS it faces
