DCMI NExt

Description
DCMI NExt by WillFa

REQUIRES NETWORK EXTENSIONS.

A DCMI is a dual crossing merging interchange. It is free flowing. Traffic correctly enters in the right-hand ("slow") lane, but exits left.

The ramp geometry is a little tight (*cough*), so you might have issues placing it on non-flat terrain. The asset was built with Enhanced Road Heights though so that there should be some lee-way in placing them.

This may not be the prettiest DCMI on the workshop (Agusingnavy has some large beautiful assets), but it's currently the most compact. The other main consideration in my design was to have the overpasses in-line with the highways with conventional placing (parallel, 4u apart). I don't know why that was important to me, but it was!

@liamcarr10 Thanks. That was the goal - small and tight.

@Aquilifer Yup, you're the first non-me sub. :) Thanks! I agree that the design isn't aesthetically perfect, especially the left ramps. The big issue with making them is CSL's requirements to have 45 degree angles at junctions, which rather limits how smoothly they appear to come out. The city pictured was really small when I took the screen shots, only about 18k people, so the other layout is intentional so that there was some traffic on the interchange for the picture :)

I think you could possibly fit in a smoother ramp for the left turn but I do agree it has very tight spacing making it difficult. Your design fits in nicely and you have well balanced lanes, the geometrics are slightly extreme however and the ramps are steep at such tight spacing.

The rest of the road network in your pictures looks too frequent with the intersections, it will cause congestion to possibly back up to the interchange. I recommend spacing them out a little and fork one road intersection into multiple streets. I use about 30 tiles of space on arterial roads myself, preferably 50 though. :)

#2 Am I the first sub?

I have a DCMI too and other interchange assets and I can say you have some nice work here!
