Cannon Fodder

Description
WARNING: THIS SCENARIO IS INTENDED FOR A MATURE AUDIENCE.

Some soldiers have an Ugly-Death-script attached to them. When they get shot they might die in a screaming painfull way.

Single-player scenario inspired by the old Amiga game Cannon Fodder from 1993.

The scenario is a normal first-person experience as Arma 3 normally is. I added some elements/ideas from Sensible Software's Cannon Fodder, in an attempt to recreate the anti-war feel from the original.

You play as a recruit fresh from the streets, so you will be the lowest ranking soldier in the squad.
You are the squad's medic, so you can revive/heal downed squad members.

The scenario contains a basic revive system. Squad members will go into a "dead-state" when wounded. Squad members can still die if they take a high amount of damage.

The AI-squad leader is invulnerable. He is needed to call the extraction helicopter, so I had to keep him alive. Anyone else in your squad can die.

You, the player, cannot be revived.

You can trigger an autosave by using radioprotocol 0 - 0 - 0. You have unlimited autosaves. The scenario only saves when you tell it to, there are no automatic savings.

How to play:
When the mission begins, you must first select your weapons and equipment from the armory. As you are a medic, you will automaticly be equipped with a backpack with a medikit, when you get in the helicopter.

When you are ready to go, approach the squad leader next to the helicopter, and select the "Report In" option from the action menu (scroll your mousewheel).

Get in the helicopter with the rest of the squad. When the helicopter starts, the time will be accelerated to x4. Nothing happens during the helicopter ride, so just let the time go faster. When you arrive at the mission site, the time acceleration will automaticly go back to normal time.

Disembark the helicopter and follow your squad in the assault on Chalkeia. Not everything moving is an enemy, there are also civlians in the town.

When the battle is over, you must get in the extraction helicopter.
There is a small chance that a bug will prevent all of your squad mates to be able to get in the helicopter. If this happens, use the emergency extraction option from the radio protocol (press 0 - 0 - 1).

The extraction helicopter will also be using time acceleration.

When you get back to base, you must pay respect to any fallen squad members before you can end the mission. Go to the site with the coffins, approach a coffin and select "Salute" in the action menu (scroll your mousewheel).

When all fallen (if any) soldiers have been honoured, approach the monument and select "End Mission".

Known issues:
Saving is bugged. The scond time you die, the loadscreen will not appear. To prevent you from getting stuck, the scenario will automaticly reload the latest autosave after 25 seconds.

Awesome idea and execution, GrumpyRhino! Never reared about this game (had a MSX when I was a teenager) but the idea is impressive!

cheers!
