Steam Cloud
To go through the procedure, I think u should know the basics of steam cloud.

Steam Cloud is used to backup config files and savegames online in order to access them from every computer. It's a feature that can be enabled/disabled through two different dialogs:
- Steam > Settings > Downloads + Cloud > Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for games which support it (will affect all the games)
- Right-click on a game > Properties > Updates > Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for GameName (will only affect the selected game
How Steam Cloud Works
U can easily guess dat, der are 2 versions of sav games in Half-Life 1.
- 1 is Located on C:Program Files\Steam\Steam Apps\Common\Half-Life\Valve\SAVES
- 2 is located on steam servers.

Steam Cloud automatically downloads the missing files each time you start Steam. So deleting steam saves on the system is not gonna work. You know dat, if der is modification in d system save games, and if dey r newer, dey will be uploaded to steam servers. So we will take advantage of this factor.
Cleaning Steam Cloud Servers
So letmme show u d steps to bring this dialogue box.

  • Go to the system save location (Steam Apps\Common\Half-Life\Valve\Saves)
  • Open each .sav files with notepad
  • Select all d text using Ctrl+A
  • Delete d text in all d files der and save dem one by one
  • Right Click on Hal-Life App on steam
  • Disable and Enable Steam Cloud without closing d dialogue box (Aftr disabling steam cloud)
  • U can see dat the stored content changes to 22 KB
  • After that close box (Cloud enabled) and run d game
  • Maybe the cloud sync dialogue box appers, (If appears, minimise and go to system saves, delete all saves and choose to upload to server)

Notes : Cloud sync DIalogue box is a dialogue box dat comes up when d system saves hav been unusually modified abruptly.

Very great guide, It's annoying how you spoke like a spastic throughout the guide but i suppose people were different in 2015.

Also the save file location, (at least for me), is
C:Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\valve\SAVE
not
C:Program Files\Steam\Steam Apps\Common\Half-Life\Valve\SAVES
Bit grammar nazi but it's important, especially since there is no Steam File in Program Files but there is in Program Files (x86)

@Pranav
God damn it, seems the Half Life saves are back (I'm on a new system) and also why the frick does opening the .sav files open Day of Infamy.
Also Gun doesn't have cloud saves, I thought it did when I made that post.
The rest was accurate, it seems at the time I somehow satisfied myself that the Half Life saves were deleted, but apparently they came back from the cloud on my new system.

Huh?
Sorry no I meant after deleting the Half Life saves I was checking if it affected any other save files.
But this should also work for all Steam games that for some reason don't allow deleting saves in-game (or not) if you go in the correct directory.
