You are running under the old physics. If you click the "i" of your workshop entry in Contraption Maker, then click the yellow pen button, and then tell the game to change to the new physics version when prompted, glitch is fixed. I found out from the developer that there are many physics versions being maintained to keep older puzzles and contraptions working. He does this if he needs to change a physics property, such as bounce or friction.

I think this glitch is fixed. If you upgrade this to the latest physics, the older result doesn't happen anymore.

Why don't you make that comment in the description? Otherwise very weird.
