Description
Updated 3 January 2018 - Up to snuff infrastructure and map elements are coming to my earliest maps!
It uses Celtic Coast map theme, which is a small file size theme. It is not really requried, just ignore the popup if you choose no theme or a different theme.

Original Text ------------------------

Check out the European version of this map- tree lined country road template, islands now able to be settled thanks to tunnels..... more islands and smoothed island spaces! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=449069079

Emerald Coast Updated!! v 3.0 Thanks to Shroomblaze for helping with the maps workaround, and to simplicity and others for the great suggestions! Updating maps is really wonky still.

Nicer, more attractive transport connections, more resources in "industry valley"

It looked boring, so I started painting. The effect of sunshine and shadows across the map was painted using the farm resource colour, and they match the actual terrain changes in the map as well as the angle of the sun. it looks like a fresh, new morning! Being able to see each little hill also helps you when planning your roads. The main area in the lee of the central raised plateau contains a little oil and ore, but tons of tree/forestry. The rest of the landscape is a treeless, verdant green with a velvety look that is very atmospheric in-game.

This map also has the following functional features:
- 1600 MW Hydro Dam Ready. Carefully designed and tested system for running a massive hydro dam that still allows for beauty. Giant tsunami effect (when starting the dam up) has been tested, the river redesigned and river shores raised to prevent the usual absurd flooding.
- Airline and Sealine routes designed so you can take a tour by clicking follow.
- Tons of room on a scenic map (mild challenge in terms of some hills and inclines, but this makes for a nice city
- Boreal map. The ordinarily annoying fog / mist looks great on this map!
-Tons of Agricultural resources, one concentrated area of oil and ore resources in an area hidden by the central hill. Heavy forestry in that area, too. Don't forget you can plant trees to make your own forestry area, and there is room for over 200K more trees on this map

**Light filter: to get these verdant Irish green colors, experiment so you find the one the filter that you like best. These photos use Scotland Tom's Clear and Bright. Temperate looks okay. Boreal looks washed out...

Here are all of my atmospheric maps inspired by beautiful world locations:
China: Dragon Bay http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=440027912
Ireland: Emerald Coast http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=436271210
Scottish Highlands? Norway? You decide!

- Temperate Climate Version http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=434432983

Where will the next map take us? What would you like to see?

Airline/sealine follow tours are brilliant, what a detail.

Good to know. I am also apparently blind or illiterate. Maybe both? Probably just lazy.:lunar2019grinningpig:

Oh, actually, I specified this in the beginning of this map's description. ^^

It doesn't require the theme. Actually no themes are actually required for any maps or saves. They can be safely skipped.

The first time you start a new game it will pop up with "Warning: the map theme is not loaded. Do you want to use a default theme?" Click yes. Tadah! Vanilla. After the first time you save, that notification box will no longer appear.

The use of the word "warning" is melodramatic. :steamfacepalm:

This is still in your Vanilla Maps collection but is no longer Vanilla as it requires a theme.

Building dams in this game is really tricky. You have to keep trying to find the right spot (without clicking the dam to finish it) until you find the right combination of height and location to get the desired MW.
Also, a lot of variation happens with the flow of the dam (and thus the power level). They added the variation in the AI I guess to simulate reality.

Tried building a dam, but It would be built, than filled and would work, But I would get a maximum of 1256MW. Then it would keep on going up and down so I would get like 20MW sometimes and 1256MW other times. I tried rebuilding it a few times and waiting but nothing happened.

Well look at this! Just as soon as I decide to finally fix my broken Cites, my favourite cartographer updated my favourite map! You're the best, Mr. M!
