Thank you very much. Fortunately I happen to already have Blender so that's comforting that it's a bit closer to home. I shall look over that tutorial today.

Don't have one (Yet, dunno if i ever will but for now, keep your cash.)

I make them with Blender, which has a very odd learning curve. I actually started making models with Sketchup using the Source Export Tools, but you can't make Cabinets in Sketchup so I ended up exporting them and finishing the job in Blender, and now I do it 100% in Blender. Vermilicious has this tutorial which, even though he hasn't finished it, will point you in the right direction for making a prop for AA and Sketchup is really easy to get started with for making models.

As for the actual modeling part, you're on your own. I mostly base my stuff on design docs and reference images on the internet.

How do you go about making cabinets for AA? Are there any tutorials anywhere for some simple basics?

That all looks pretty awesome! would definitely add to the vibe of my arcade. I've already got cd cases everywhere for PS1 games. Cassette tapes for music and VHS Tape cases for movies would be an excellent touch. The modular tape drive for the C64 would be very neat as well. If you could make a simple VHS case "cabinet" for me to display movies with would be glad to drop a couple dollars in your paypal to contribute.

Oh, and the C64GS [stiggyblog.files.wordpress.com], that would be an interesting addition.

Also in the fevered searching you got me doing by suggesting that i found this shelf [stopxwhispering.files.wordpress.com] which is really cool. Ill see if I can wrestle AA into letting me upload stuff again, and if so consider making a lot of this stuff.

At that point, if we're doing Casettes, it'd be worth it to make a c64 Tape Drive [images.pcworld.com] prop/cabinet to put on top. Or if you wanted to go ultra reverse-zeerust, we could make a SD2IEC prop [www.google.com]. Welp, now you've got me looking at more possible cabinet ideas. Individual cassette tapes and floppy disks, individual boxes, disconnected cassette players, SD cards and Flash drives (probably like the ones IndieBox sends out [www.thatvideogameblog.com])...(continued)

Well, the box is just a 4-sided rectanuglar prism, wouldn't be all that fancy. Usually I just use the large card cabinet for that kind of thing. Maybe I could fix it up to be more like an Actual C64/Audio cassette case [www.simplyeighties.com] or the more [i.imgur.com] rare [i.imgur.com] clamshell [i.imgur.com] cases [i.imgur.com] (images taken from ebay and rehosted) than the boxes the games were packaged in [videogamecritic.com] that i used for a reference.(continued)

I love this and it was perfect for my C64 emulator. I put a GIF of the main screen with flashing cursor on it to make it look perfect. I would love it if you could make a separate workshop item for just the Diskette/Cassette Case. I would love to have some cases to put more games on and to look like vhs tapes on shelves.

I think next you should make an old dos computer, I'd love to have a dos computer with fallout on it in anarchy arcade.
