Universal Mounts Inventory

History:
I tried to find a simple lightweight SKSE-free mod that allows me to add the Craftable Horse Barding (www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64069/?) to the horse (without installing some fancy overhauls with tons of options). The closest one is Horse Inventory, but the problem is that the horse won't equip the given armor. So, I had to build my own mod to resolve this issue.

The mod allows to access the inventory of your mounts. Works with any mounts, not just with horses, works with other creatures like Sabrecats if you can ride them, that's why it's called Universal.

Unlike popular horse overhauls, this mod doesn't change horses, it doesn't change anything in the game! It doesn't rely on any external mods (no dependencies) and it doesn't use SKSE. That's why it's compatible with everything

To access inventory:
1) Dismount
2) Unequip item from your right hand
3) Activate the horse, select the Cargo option

The horse can equip the barding and any other non-human armor. Human armor is correctly filtered, so the horse will never equip something like circlets or amulets. All the horses will keep the armor equipped when fast-travel while mounted.

To give potiions to your creature:
1) Uneqiup items from both hands
2) Access inventory as usual
3) Activate the mount, give potions

A creature will drink the given potions, but it will never eat human food
