If it is not the case well you can alway built your own scenario... now that I think about it did your game crash during the time you mass train all available barracks, autoplants, docks, airfields? If it is yes than you might want to tone down the number of unit production.
Well if crash immediately after you start the game than... there is a chance the population mod don't like the mod I made. My mod is over 3 years old and it is purely just a map, no changing stats or editing.
