This guide answers a lot of the redundant questions I get in random CS:GO online games.

Introduction
I often find myself answering the same questions regarding my knife while in game. In some casual games, I don't mind answering these questions at all. However, when I am confronted with these questions during a competitive match, I find myself trying to shift the conversation back to the game in progress. This guide is a some-what humorous attempt to squash these repititous questions by referring people to this guide when they are curious about my blades.

I hope you find the following FAQ to be informative and insightful. Feel free to leave your own questions in the comment area. Keep it "PG" please as we all know squeekers play on Steam too.

The Backstory
Several conversations regarding the manner in which I have acquired thousands of knife kills have inspired me to write this section. I have been playing for over 5 years, doing what I love to do in any first person shooter ... getting all up close and personal. In all honesty, the total of knife kills I have in this game pale in comparison to others I have played. In Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for example, I have well over 30k dog tags, which you acquire with knife kills.

In CS:GO, there are several game modes. I tend to play a lot of Arms Race, which encourages knife kills to rank up faster and win the match. This is primarily where I have acquired my knife kills. I also tend to catch a few players either off guard or even away from keyboard in Death Matches, but I really don't play that mode very often unless I want to get some aim practice in on a certain gun.

I really loved the Stab, Stab, Zap game mode for the short time it was in game during Operation: Hydra, and I do regret that the game mode wasn't selected to stick around... no pun intended.

Ultimately though, every notch on my Stat-Trak knives were earned on live official servers. I do find it somewhat annoying when someone implies that I went to a bot server to kill random people, however, I know it's unfounded and brush it off like someone accusing me of hacking.

You'll never see a VAC Ban on my account.
Huntsman Edition
I picked up a Huntsman knife on August 1st 2014 and with over 6500 knife kills I decided it was time for an upgrade. With the Stat Track Swap tool introduced in the last year, this decision become even more appealing. Thus, I retired the Huntsman on August 31, 2016 and transfered the stats to a new set of Shadow Daggers. The Huntsman, known as "Venomous Ploy," is now on my alt account.

A predator is a predator, no matter the environment.
Shadow Edition
The Shadow Daggers were something I have been wanting for a while, and after I switched to them I'm here to tell you they are different. At least, they have a different feel to them.

I obviously don't mean that I feel the weight on them, or that I feel how balanced the blades are, ect. What I mean by this is that the animation on the daggers when throwing and landing hits on players threw me off a bit. I guess when you go from the blunt force of a long blade to the quick jabs of two shorter blades, it's going to be a different visual experience. What I did not expect was for it to throw me off a bit, at least initially.

The Phoenix is not a symbol of destruction... it's a symbol of rebirth.

Later I quite enjoyed the animation, and I found myself watching to see which dagger is going to get the killing blow on my next target.

I named the knives immediately, naming them after my two recently deceased black cats to honor them in death... "Kitt & Timzu."

RIP Timzu 2006-2016
RIP Kitt 2000-2016

I had well over 15k knife kills on the daggers when I transferred the stats to the Falchion.
Falchion Edition
I've been wanting to experience the animation speed of the Falchion in game to see how much of a difference it made in gameplay, so I put a buy order up for an Urban Masked, Field Tested knife. The buy order went through late in November of 2018. I paid just over $55 USD on this one, which is probly my cheapest knife yet. So as far as trade values go this knife was a downgrade, but I still have the shadow daggers in my inventory if I ever decide to switch back to them.

This knife is also a bit of a memorial as they are named after another recently deceased cat that I called "Mustang Sally." This was a fast cat, she had definately earned the name, so I wanted to get a knife that was true to her name. The Urban Masked skin was a fairly close match to her color as well.

RIP Mustang 2006-2018

I got the stats swapped from the Shadow Daggers, and I'm ready to get more knife kills on it.
Knife History
The following list will represent the short list of knives I have used on my account, all of which are Stat-trak, as I will never use a non Stat-trak knife.

Huntsman, Safari Mesh, Field Tested (traded to alt)
Shadow Daggers, Scorched, Field Tested (stored for later use)
Falchion Knife, Urban Masked, Field Tested (loaned to daughter)
Shadow Daggers, Scorched, Field Tested (current, brought out of storage)

I have plans to upgrade to a butterfly knife in the not too distant future, likely one that matches my current theme of mostly black red and white weapons.
CS:GO Stats
Did you know you can go to a third party website to check the statistics for any CS:GO player?

I looked up mine and I linked it below. According to the website, I actually have roughly 2k more knife kills then I have on my stat-trak knives. My theory here is that I may ghave stabbed roughly 2k bots, that don't show up on knives, or that I stabbed roughly 2k players before evening owning a stat-trak knife. Check out your own stats and see how we compare!

Knife Footage
I don't record very often but when I do I typically post clips to PlaysTV. If you want to see the Huntsman knife in action you can check out some of my clips on PlaysTV and YouTube.

This is just one of the clips, check out my profile for links to my PlaysTV and YouTube pages.

New Logo!
I went ahead and went through the process of making screenshots of my knives... resizing them and deleting the backgrounds pixel by pixel around the edges.... downloaded a patch logo offline and repeated that process... saved them as images with transparent backgrounds... stacked the transparent images on top of each other... filled in the background with black... fixed the edges pixel by pixel... and saved the new guide logo!

This is a cropped screenshot of the old logo for nostalgic purposes.
Steam Awards
Thanks for the Steam Awards!

I have been creating guides for the Steam Community for a few years now, long before Steam Awards were a thing. I love creating content for the games I play. In 2020, Valve decided to reward players that create content with the points shop system.

The Steam points are very appreciated, and certainly encourages me to create more content for the gaming community. I even spent a few of the points to give more space for Steam guides on my profile. This lets me present up to seven of them on my profile at once. If you want to see what else I've created, you should check out the Other Published Steam Guides section of this guide!
CS:GO Guide Index
Previously, I listed the many CS:GO related guides I had created here. For simplicity, I have since opted to create what I call a CS:GO Guide Index. This is essentially another guide that points to the CS:GO guides I have created. If you like any of my other guides, please feel free to rate them up!
