Introduction
As with most of my guides, this one started with a few common questions during game play. In this case, these questions are all about the Zeus x27, otherwise called the taser, in Counter Strike: Global Offensive. The Zeus can be used by Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists as a probable one-hit kill in close combat scenarios, if your fast and accurate enough to land a direct hit.

The Zeus is sadly one of the only items in game that do not have their own skins, likely do to the fact that they were initially meant to be one-off disposable weapons, like grenades. Hopefully one day they may realize they can make some money off of skins for these as well for those of use that would totally nerd out on them.

Please consider this guide a work-in-progress.

Stat-Traks (or lack of)
Do largely in part to the market of Stat-Trak weapons, there is no way to look up your weapon stats (including the Zeus) in game. Since the Zeus x27 is meant to be a "one-off" weapon, there is also no Stat-Trak variant, or skins of any kind, for the Zeus currently in-game.

This leaves players in the dark about how many taze kills they have earned without checking into "Third Party Links" like the one posted in the similarly-named section below.
Danger Zone
Tasers literally just lay in random spots on the map in this game mode. If your lucky enough to find one, shift walk in confined spaces with it and keep your ears open for hasty targets. Alternately you can use one while out-gunned in close quarters.

Update! Now you can start with a Taser in the beginning of a Danger Zone Match if you choose to do so. I highly recommend it if you are dropping into a cluster of buildings as I did in this screenshot. Literally just lurk in the buildings and wait for someone to run in and get zapped, giving you all their hard earned loot.

If you miss with a Zeus in this game mode, your avatar will not automatically toss the device as it would in other game modes. Instead, the taser stays on your person and "recharges" for the next opportunity to zap another participant, unless of coarse your reward for missing was to be killed by your opponent. You will have to be prepared to switch weapons if it misses, but focus more on landing the hit so that it does not miss.

Pro Tip! You can use the taser to open the large gun boxes!
Stab, Stab, Zap
This game mode, featured during the Hydra event, is not currently in game. However, during "knife only" that game mode you also had a Zeus, which operated much as it does now in the Danger Zone game mode.

PS: Valve, please bring back this awesome game mode!
Don't waste my Zeus!
I've said this a few times, in both casual and competitive play.

If someone buys a taser literally every round, and you pick one up that they didn't have a chance to use... you may as well toss it back to them next round so they don't blow the cash for another one, instead of shooting it off to waste it.

It's a team effort!

A Zeus only cost $200 bucks during the buy round. If one were to buy the Zeus each round, it could effectively kill the player's economy later in the game in the critical final rounds. Help out your teammates when throwing these back at them when possible, or use them effectively yourself!
Straight to the F.A.Q.
Any frequently asked questions will be answered in this question of the guide.

Q: How do you know how many Zeus kills you have?
A: See the section below called "Third Party Link."

Q: How much does a Zeus cost anyway?
A: See the section above called "Don't waste my Zeus!"

Third Party Link
I typically don't post third party links in my guides, but in this case, the most common question I get regarding the Zeus is: "How do you know how many Zeus kills you have?"

The answer to that, unfortunately, is a third party link that tracks all player stats for Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

Here's the link: https://csgo-stats.com/

Why do they ask me this question? Well I tend to post how many I have at the end of my name in Steam, at least when I am really obnoxious about it. This is due to the fact that there are currently no Stat-Trak variants of the Zeus in game.

Steam Awards
Thanks for the Steam Awards!

I have been creating guides for the Steam Community for a few years now, long before Steam Awards were a thing. I love creating content for the games I play. In 2020, Valve decided to reward players that create content with the points shop system.

The Steam points are very appreciated, and certainly encourages me to create more content for the gaming community. I even spent a few of the points to give more space for Steam guides on my profile. This lets me present up to seven of them on my profile at once. If you want to see what else I've created, you should check out the Other Published Steam Guides section of this guide!
CS:GO Guide Index
Previously, I listed the many CS:GO related guides I had created here. For simplicity, I have since opted to create what I call a CS:GO Guide Index. This is essentially another guide that points to the CS:GO guides I have created. If you like any of my other guides, please feel free to rate them up!
