Gods at War

Description
This is a mod that brings several of the Olympian gods into the game as playable units. It is designed with Wrath of Sparta as the focus, but I've also added playability for the Grand Campaign. Each Olympian has a unique special ability to boost allies, custom unit card, and faithfully adapted appearance (with some room for creative liberty to represent their characters) that all reflect their figures in Greek Mythology. Athena, Ares, Artemis, Apollo, and Aphrodite are all available to Sparta, Athens, and Macedon.

~Athena: She is the most powerful unit in the game in melee combat. Armed with the Aegis shield, she is a protector of the Athenians and the goddess of wisdom and military strategy. She is also a champion goddess of famed Greek heroes such as Achilles, Odysseus, and Heracles. In the Iliad, she routs other gods in combat, including as Ares and Artemis. Her ability "Heroism" raises morale, melee defence, and armour penetrating abilities.

~Ares: The God of War is the second most powerful god in the game. He represents a different side of war than Athena, which is the violent bloodthirsty side. Although the Greeks often called upon Ares for strength in battle, he was not trusted to be a just god since he encouraged bloodshed. Perhaps this is why the Spartans have dedicated their entire lifestyle to Ares and worship him as their patron god. When Ares engages in combat, he can go berserk and the player will lose control of him. He also has a very powerful javelin throw that can break up groups of enemies before charging into them. His ability "Bloodlust" increases morale, melee attack, and bonus vs infantry of nearby friendly units.

~Artemis: The Goddess of the Hunt is a stealth archer unit. She was also goddess of animals and the wild. Although they do not worship her as they do Ares, Spartans worship her as their second most important deity. She will not last long in combat against a melee-focused god, but her arrows can provide a major support against groups of enemies, and have a bonus when used against animals. Her special ability "Hunt" increases accuracy, morale, and weapon damage. She also has a hunting dog that can charge and attack the enemy.

~Apollo: god of many things such as art, light, and plague, but foremost he is the God of Archery. His skill with the bow is unmatched by any other Olympian. He has two different arrow types, one which fires an explosive round that can knock down and kill groups of enemies, and a second type that deals less damage but has a devastating morale effect. His special ability "Mastery" increases morale, missile damage, and reloading.

~Aphrodite: The Goddess of Love may seemingly have no place in battle, but her love is the primary cause of conflicts. Rivalry over her love is a primary cause of the Trojan War. Her ability "Love" increases morale, melee attack, charge bonus, and bracing.

~Hephaestus: The God of Smithing and Fire, husband of the unfaithful Aphrodite. His power in crafting makes him a valuable Olympian to Achilles, for whom he crafts a special shield for. He has very strong armour, which makes him a very powerful god in melee, despite his slow speed (due to his injured feet as a result of falling from Olympus). His ability "Anvil" increases bracing, morale, armour, and shield strength but disables movement.

~Hermes: served as the Messenger God of Olympus, as a link to mortals. He is also the god of travelers, athletes, and commerce. He is extremely quick in combat, which gives him a powerful charge bonus. His special ability "Talaria" increases speed, morale, and charge bonus.

~Nike: She is the Goddess of Victory, and she accompanies Athena in battle. She is a minor goddess armed with a chariot to cut through enemies. Her ability "Victory" increases morale and charge bonus.

~Phobos and Deimos: God of Fear and God of Dread are the twin sons of Ares, and they accompany him in battle on chariots. Their special ability is "Terror" which hinders enemy morale, charge bonus, accuracy, and melee defence

~Bellona: Goddess of War, is the consort of Mars. She rides a chariot into battle.

~Liber and Libera: The God and Goddess of Freedom are patrons to the lower classes of Romans, and they support the battle as charioteers.

~Hades: The God of the Underworld leads his army of hoplite shades into battle. Unlike the other units I have created thus far, he is a full unit of soldiers where Hades himself is the officer.

5/28/2015 Update: All the gods are now recruitable from main military buildings of all levels. The Greek gods are all available to Athens, Sparta, and Macedon in both custom battle and campaign. I have made a few changes to the existing ones, and I've also added Mars. In the future I have planned more gods of the Roman pantheon to come, and some new features like Hermes and Mercury aide de campe advisors for their respective factions. I am currently working on more Roman gods then I will work on adding Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades with their Roman counterparts.

2/16/2016 Update: It has been a while, but I've had two gods I was working on for a while that I have just completed. This update adds Hades, Bellona, and Liber and Libera to the game, and fixes some minor changes brought about by the most recent game patch (example Nike's hair colour being changed from brown to grey by the game patch, so I changed it to the brown option). Bellona is a chariot unit available to Rome. Hades is a hoplite unit that can be used by the Greek factions, and unlike the other units he is a full unit with an army of hoplite shades at his side.

I would like to thank Magnar for his youtube tutorials on modding that helped me complete this project. I've done some extensive battle testing, but I haven't gone through many campaign tests since it is so difficult to jump into a campaign every time I make a minor alteration to the mod. If you encounter any issues, please comment below and I will work to fix it as soon as possible. Also, feel free to post suggestions. I am satisfied with the mod's level of completion, but I am not opposed to listening to your ideas.

Where is Mars? It is no longer available from the Romans. Only 2 gods are available. Those of the carts.

In fact, may I suggest redistribution to minor Greek states so each gets their own historically/lore friendly patron god, that would be epic, e.g. Sardis gets Artemis
