VANDHAAL RMS WORLD: REALM OF THE GODS
SUPREMACY RANDOM MAP SERIES


An Age of Mythology Extended Edition series of Supremacy random maps by The Vandhaal
Updated and released in February 2015
Original AoM TT version experiments in 2009 and 2012
These maps are mainly just created for me and my online pals but I thought why not share them maybe somebody else also likes them.
Public released on Steam | Released for Friends only

INSTALL NOTE, ONLINE HOSTING AND AOM EE ONLINE GREEN UP ISSUE AND CRASH ISSUES RELATED TO AOM EE

If you have subscribed to these maps there is no need to install anything however in some cases* the AoM EE mod-manager gives some problems during online hosting when people in your online game lobby try to ready up ( green up) to start the game. To FIX these issues do the following:
  • 1- COPY all .xml, .xs and .set files (so files NOT folder) from:
    C: > Program files > Steam > steamapps > common > Age of Mythology > mods > Vandhaal rms world Realm of the Gods > rm2

  • 2- and PASTE them all into:
    C: > Program files > Steam > steamapps > common > Age of Mythology > rm2

  • 3- In case you have a mixed group of players (subscribed and none subscribed) disable the modmanager maps and only use the copied maps in your rm2 folder.
*This solves the green up issue in case you have a mix of subscribed and none subscribed players in your game lobby
In general you can simply select them like any random map if you host a game online (they all start with Vandhaal...). If all people in your hosted games are subscribed to these maps ( subscribe button on this page) there is NO issue at all.

AOM EE WORKSHOP/MODMANAGER CRASH ISSUES
Yes the game and workshop are not just a problem for greening up but sometimes it also crashes these maps...this problem is not related to the maps but to the game and its modmanager (buggy? yes!)..to solve this do the same as indicated in step 3....so:
Get the all the maps to work by copying the contents of:
Age of Mythology > mods > Vandhaal rms world Realm of the Gods > rm2
to
Age of Mythology > rm2
and then disable the Vandhaal rms world Realm of the Gods mod ingame (so in your mod manager).
Obviously if you disable them in mod manager you have to check manual if i release any updates.

SUPREMACY RANDOM MAPS

These random maps are meant to play similar to the faster-paced and more aggressive standard balanced fast-random maps created by Ensemble Studios. They are build to play supremacy games and balanced for any kind of player/team set up (from 1 vs 1 to 6 vs 6) Next to this supremacy game-play balance their mood, feel and looks are custom designed...and All of them contain little twists here and there (which should NOT interfere with the standard Supremacy game-play style/mode.
Anyway as said already they are just created mainly for me and my pals to have some diversion in our games and shared with the public because maybe some of you guys/girls also like them.

Included in this pack is also a randomizer (same as original random all, random selector). You can use this to let the game randomly select from the faster-paced and more aggressive Vandhaal rms world Realm of the Gods maps.

All maps have a build in cycle (some day and night some a bit different. These cycles have also a small twist. I advise to NOT use the build in day/night cycle of AoM EE...it doesn't mess up the rms but it of course twists the mood, feel and idea behind the build in light cycle.

Also notice these maps are not meant for AoM TT because they make use of the new light files which came with AoM EE

Maybe more maps will be added so just stay subscribed and you get them automatically.

for some reason when using map editor on Odin's realm if I place Reginleif in the map and then play the map it removes her. Why is this?

Thanks for the unexpected reply...so sounds all is fixed again? great! If i find the time I will look into the lines you found in the Dwarven gold map....btw while you are at it maybe you can look into the problem caused in the tower scenario...: After soem patches and the expansion the visuals are messed up (probably caused because the Object I.D.'s have changed???) ...The looks of this scenario ran pretty much perfect from 2007 (aom tt) to 2015 (AoM EE steam)..... I've got a fix that'll go into patch 2.4. The problem is the lengthy path names are blowing the script buffer of 127 characters. I've increased it to 260. But depending on where people have their steam directories installed, you have to factor in the full path of the script.

Also you have a minor bug in Dwarven gold xs script. Line 584&585:
rmRandInt(4,3) should be rmRandInt(3,4) -- low to high, else you always get 0.
rmRandInt(1,0) on the following line same issue.

You should review all the scripts to make sure there aren't any others.
