How to craft a ghillie suit : Complete guide

The complete guide on how to make a ghillie suit with tips and looting spots as well as instructions to make sure you can craft and wear a ghillie suit in no time!

Well hello! Thank you for checking out my full complete guide on crafting and preparing a ghillie suit. I hope this guide will help you minimize the time it takes to make a ghillie suit so you can start being a bush in no time!

Supplies gathering/preparation

As everyone knows for you to make the ghillie suit you will need the supplies in order to craft the glorious suit.

What you will need to craft the ghillie suit.

Netting


Burlap sacks

You will need a knife or machete to cut the burlap into strips.

You will also need food and water to aquire these items as they will require you to walk at least some distance.

Where to find the supplies

Finding supplies is very tough, Yes I know but I think I have found a solution to that!

First of all before you go for the locations that I'm going to list it is KEY that you do not get on a high population server. The max server population when looking for these items at these places need not to exceed over 5 players otherwise it's really not worth your time even looking

It is much easier if your character is already stationed north east in the map because that is where the best spots for the supplies are. I say this is because most people spawn in the south part of the map so most of the loot is untouched to an extent.


Since netting is hard to find in some cases you will most likely have to server hop whenever you get to the cove to actually get alot of netting, Same goes with the burlap sacks but those will be a little easier to find.

Netting
Netting can be found in Berezhki, It is a fishing cove. This cove is a place filled with 16 boats and is where I found 7 nets at. It is overall the best place to find nets in the game and you will hardly find it looted unless someone on a low population server has got to it already trying to do what you are doing.

Burlap sacks
The best place to find them is at Olsha, Not too far from the cove now is it? I say this because I have found 3 burlap sacks in less than 5 minutes in this town. What gives it a advantage is the rurality of the town and the fact that nobody takes the time to even pay attention to that town makes it a perfect place for loot (including burlap sacks) to pile up and spawn in :).Burlap sacks can be most commonly found in industrial complexes but what I found most convienent and fast is sheds because they have a limited spawn list that include burlap sacks.For your information olsha has plenty of farm sheds and everytime I got onto another server there would always be a burlap sack somewhere in one of those sheds in the town. On the otherhand warehouses include tons of items on a list with only a miniscule chance of a burlap sack spawning, plus they are warehouses so they are in big citys which means they probably have a way higher chance of being already looted, Even on a low population server.

The crafting part

Ahhh so you have made it this far? GOOD! Now let us begin the crafting stage.

With burlap sacks you must cut them with either a knife or a machete to make burlap strips!

There are actually two different variants of ghillie tops. The bushrag and then the full ghillie top
The difference between them is that the ghillie top is longer and covers your arms and takes two extra burlap strips (6) as to the bushrag which doesn't cover your arms and is shorter but takes
(4) burlap strips.

REMEBER : 1 Burlap sack = 1 burlap strip

STEPS

1. Get the correct amount of supplies for what part you want to make.
2. Put them both on the ground.
3. Drag the burlap strips into the netting and it will give you an option to craft a ghillie suit part.


Crafting recipes

• 1 netting + 2 burlap strips = Ghillie Hood

• 1 netting + 2 burlap strips = Ghillie Gunwrap

• 3 netting + 6 burlap strips = Ghillie top (Covers arms)

• 2 netting + 4 burlap strips = Ghillie bushrag (lighter and doesn't include arm coverage)

Remeber put the burlap strips onto the correct amount of netting.

Customization of your ghillie suit.

Now that you have crafted your ghillie suit you probably want to make it blend in right?

Whenever you craft your ghillie suit the finished product is a tan color. Although there are some areas in dayz with tan grass most of it is woodland themed.

To paint it woodland themed you will need

• green spraypaint cans (2 for the whole outfit)

These can be primarly found at warehouses and apartment buildings in elektro and in cherno since that is where I have seen them spawn the most but other than that they are just pretty random overall and in industrial places as well as residential.

Your end result should look something like this!

What an odd place to ask for technical help, and yet refuse to re-install at the same time.

This is an old guide, the spawns are dynamic and can be anywhere, he had luck with these and I would say just find an inland industrial area on a map and search that, find a tent or storage item to hide and store things, and keep looking.

There's also no spray paint anymore, etc.
