Description
What was
removed from the original:

Phychically dull - There might have been a reason they were engineered with this gene. Something in the lore of planet Yttak. But it's never specified.
This gene just buffs them as your enemies, but for you removes the ability to play them as psycasters. Boring.

Strong melee damage - How can they be both strong in melee and also have awful mining? Don't know about you but I can't imagine why would they be strong in melee.

Sleepy - It has some lore potential. But it just pushes this xenotype into unplayable category.

No hair - There already mods that do this, so I think most people also hate this gene. In case you didn't know, you can choose what haircuts appear on them by editing their ideology! No mods required . Yes ideology of enemies can be edited! I wish I knew it sooner.

Unisex beards - They are still people, not animals... Women would definitely shave their beards.

Awful mining - Changed to poor mining. Yes maybe somehow their fur makes it harder to mine, but passion should stay as their personal preference.

Now about added genes

Strong Immunity - Let's keep in mind that they are engineered to survive in harsh environments.

Cold supper tolerant - Their total minimal comfort temperature is offset by -40 degrees Celsius and equals to -24 now(For baseliners it's 16). They can finally survive winter...

Heat weakness - Their fur definitely should make it hard to cool. Yet the gene offsets it only by 5 degrees, so you know.

Tinderskin - Their fur now burns!!! You can fight those pirates with fire now) +400% fire damage.

Standart body - Why not.

poor cooking/medical/crafting - Their fur definitely must make them harder to manipulate and do something sterile. Crafting is debatable, but cooking and medical are definitely fair.

I also considered giving them robust stomach. It suits them I think. But had to remove it so I can remove 'sleepy' gene.
I can't say that this rework is much better then the original, but I just want to move on to making the other ones.

Compatible with everything except anything that touches Yttakin def.

Thanks. You are right there is a high chance they have a different culture. But it's still just a game and I believe 99% of players would prefer seeing females as females:)

Not sure why you removed unisex beards, it was one of the (albeit many) things that made em stand out

and besides, good chance they have a completely different culture or anatomy than us, they may not even see it as "beards" but as "extra loose hair that you can make fancy"

But other than that, great mod old sport

I'm not sure what exactly you don't understand. But I can try to make you understand me. For example here in Yttakins, we have great animals. I think this gene suits them because they relate themselves to animals and Animals relate themselves to Yttakins more then to ordinary people. This synergy is definitely the basis for forming a passion in most persons.
While poor medical and cooking I explain as a consequence of them struggling to keep everything sterile because of their fur.
But if you want to make them good or bad in something as a community, you can just make their Ideoligion. If you want Yttakin miners you can just give them that undergraunder precept.
I hope this makes sense

My brain blanked at Naked Speed lmao, my bad; I suppose that makes sense.
I don't get the whole "its about knowledge not genes" thing though, because thats not how genes in biotech really work? Like yeah xenotypes can be good at things they're genetically bad at, but they're still getting a skill debuff because of the gene making them bad at it.
Dalgamor  [author] Aug 29 @ 1:09pm
That's an interesting take. But If I give them slow runner, then combined with naked speed they would have -40 move speed. About plants, its again knowledge, not genes. Also mining might be explained like if they overheat from doing it. Still, awful mining was removed so now they can have passion therefore they can be good at it.

Swap out poor mining for slow runner or poor plants. Yttak is canonically a prison ice-moon with little plant life where Yttakin were often prisoners and probably made to do manual labor like mining, and the wiki also describes them as "not fast or energetic" most likely because of their fur.
