Starmod is a Team Fortress 2 server mod. It started development roughly in March 2012. In October 2014 the mod hit public testing phase. At the time of writing this: Starmod’s a privet mod in a state of constant development. Today 4 servers run this mod.

So what is Starmod?

Starmod is a mod where all the Team Fortress 2 classes have greatly emphasized characteristics and gameplay.

In Starmod all the classes have modified character and weapon attributes. The idea is to emphasize the certain aspects of gameplay the classes each uniquely have however in practise it seems things are just changed for the sake of fun.

Class and weapon stats may change in the future but here’s a quick rundown of the some modifications Starmod makes:
  • The Scout has greater mobility. He starts with a lower base health value but runs at a faster speed. With the winger equipped it’s possible to rocketjump around maps. His scattergun has a clip of 8 but no reserve ammunition. His bat grants jump height to the scout and speed boosts allies hit.

  • The Soldier’s rocketlancher minicrits airborne enemies, reloads faster when being healed but has no splash damage. The shotgun works like the Begger’s bazooka. The shovel hits enemies into the air, gives the soldier a small extra jumps while in the air and regenerates health and ammo when active.

  • The Pyro is oddly disabled in Starmod.

  • The Demoman has increased base health. His grenade launcher has reduced clip and no splash but pushes enemies towards the demoman. The stick launcher shots out stickys that continually explodes and sets enemies on fire. The eylander has increased range sets enemies on fire and hurts friendly medics healing the demoman when active.

  • The Heavy is a special class. When selected the player becomes a giant robot heavy with increased health. When the heavy dies the heavy class is disabled for the entire team for 2 minutes. The Heavy’s shotgun is very powerful, heals the player every kill and blocks a single backstab. The minigun fires flares.

  • The Engineer’s shotgun shoots rockets. His pistal deals no damage but fires extremely fast, slowing enemies and gratting the engineer metal on hit. The wrench has a slower fire rate and reduced damage to enemies but upgreades builds and feeds them metal faster. It can also teleporter buildings to the engineer by alt firing at the cost of 50 metal. The engineer’s teleporters teleport both ways and his dispenser has greater range. Oddly sentries cost more than 200 metal and thus can never be built.

  • The Medic is in third person at all times. His medigun’s uber grants the target both invulnerability and critical hits. His bonesaw grants uber on hit, and teleporters the player a small distance in the direction they’re moving with alt-fire. This teleport is on a cooldown.

  • The Sniper’s sniper rifle no longer charges. It deals greater damage on headshot and worse on bodyshots than usual and has a tracer. The machina fires rockets. Damage increases with full charge. The huntsman now fires hitscan bullets like a rifle. The smg crits on headshot but only has a clip with one bullet. The kukri has humongous melee reach and increased knockback.

  • The Spy can no longer disguises and has reduced base health. His revolver only holds a single shot but can headshot and gives the enemy hit the marked for death debuff. His knife makes the enemies bleed but makes the spy bleed on a miss. The self bleed can be used to jump around. The knife deals increased damage when the spy is bellow 50 health and lastly it grants a bit of health on kill. The sapper heals the spy when sapping. The Spy is limited to the default watch, however it cloaks and decloaks slightly faster.

When a player has a weapon equipped that hasn’t been changed, Starmod glitches and removes the loadout slot entirely, handicapping the player. Avoid equipping anything but stock or the items that are known to have been modified. Touching a resupply cabinet sometimes also randomly removes loadout slots that have a valid weapon.

And that’s basically Starmod in a nutshell. A weird thematic change of gameplay. A mod that adds a layer of complexity to Team Fortress 2.

Consider going to the official steam group and asking there. I wouldn't know the answer.

Well, that's because Star_ hates pyros... a little bit.

but he REALLY REALLY hates minisentries. So yeah,he just removes both sentries.
