Description
Eliminates the 20% efficiency penalty for work tables placed outside their designated room types. No more need for "Kitchen" or "Workshop" rooms - all work tables now function at 100% efficiency anywhere you place them.
Perfect for flexible base designs without micromanaging room designations.

Butcher tables still retain their added filth rating, with no change from 1.5.

Outdoors and bad temperature penalty is still in place, this just reverts the 1.6 changes back to how it was in 1.5.


14th July 2025 v1.1.0.2 Removed additional fail-safe to ensure it missed no tables. Not needed and was just showing a log error when the fail-safe found nothing to patch.

It looks like someone implemented a patch for speed improvements inside rooms, so you have the choice now. I just liked my one room build (even in space ships), so this is just to revert to that, giving no bonuses, or penalties :)

But I thought the devs wanted us to build walls made of held open doors that make rooms uglier!

It'd be nice if there was a setting to enable a work speed boost for correct rooms, so that the dev's intention could actually be realized. They really phrased the nerf poorly in their change log, like "Rewarding the player for designated rooms"? That isn't true at all because there is no reward other than "Your buildings function like they did in 1.5 but you used more wealth", I don't need to say this because you already made the mod which proves this point. But I will anyways because that change irritates me. Plus it ruins the best duel room imo in research/hospitals, thanks for saving those!

Nice! Though they totally made a mistake by framing the efficiency adjustment as a "penalty" for being in the wrong room instead of a "'bonus" for being in the correct one. It makes it sound like people are being punished for unoptimized layouts.

@Rhyndo Good question, I forgot about that. I had no intention of changing that, just reverting the changes. Loading a quicktest and attempting to put a production table outside still gives me a 'Outdoors: Bad Temperature' penalty for a combined 56% workspeed. Good catch, though.
