How to use the item shop [2025]

This is a guide on using the item shop in Dota 2 after the Spring Forward 2025 update.

Clicking on shop items

This section details various interactions that occur when clicking on items in the shop with or without modifiers (like Ctrl, Alt and Shift).

Normal clicking

Ctrl clicking

Shift clicking

Ctrl + Shift clicking

Shop icons

This refers to the icons in the top-right corner of the shop.

Purchase suggestions

• Left-clicking with or without any modifier turns on item suggestion requests for your team.
  
• Suggestions are closed automatically after 30 seconds, Cannot be turned off manually.
  
• Right-clicking with or without any modifiers does nothing.

Item highlights

• Left-clicking with or without any modifier highlights items frequently purchased on hero.
  
• Right-clicking with or without any modifiers does nothing.

Shop layout

• Left-clicking with or without any modifier toggles between grid and column shop.
  
• Right-clicking with or without any modifiers does nothing.

Team items

• Left-clicking with or without any modifier toggles column that shows team items purchased or queued by allies.
  
• Right-clicking with or without any modifiers does nothing.

Buyback protection

• Left-clicking with or without any modifier toggles buyback protection which limits you to buying items only from surplus gold.
  
• Right-clicking with or without any modifiers does nothing.

Quickbuy, pinned and sticky items

Items can be queued into quickbuy, pinned for frequent purchase or added to the sticky section in the bottom-right of the shop window.

Click dragging

• You can click drag items with left click to Pinned items, Quickbuy or Sticky
  
• You cannot click drag items with right click (buys the item instead)
  
• Ctrl + Shift click drag items into quickbuy works the same as Ctrl + Shift left click (queue multiple items)

Buying

• Alt + right click in quickbuy buys the item without removing it from quickbuy
  
• Right-clicking items in quickbuy, pinned or sticky buys them (when you have enough gold)
  
• Right-clicking items in quickbuy, pinned or sticky marks them to buy (when you don't have enough gold)

Miscellanous

• Ctrl + right click opens the context menu in quickbuy, pinned or sticky (same as in shop)
  
• Right-clicking secret shop items will put them into quickbuy and mark them to buy
  
• Telling courier to deliver items will send it to secret shop first and buy items there before delivering
