[B42] Intuitive Crafting

Description
Description
Navigating Project Zomboid's crafting menu can become a chore, especially as your list of known recipes expands. Intuitive Crafting is designed to overhaul this experience, introducing smart, persistent filters that help you quickly find exactly what you need, when you need it.

This mod enhances the crafting interface with powerful and easy-to-use tools, allowing you to spend less time scrolling and more time surviving and thriving.

Key Features
  • "Can Craft" Filter: Instantly displays only the recipes you can currently create. This considers your known recipes (or those not requiring one), your current skill levels, and other crafting prerequisites.
  • "Have Items" Filter: Quickly identifies recipes for which you already possess some or all of the required materials. Excellent for efficiently utilizing your current inventory.
  • "XP Gain" Filter: Allows you to focus specifically on recipes that grant skill experience, aiding in strategic character development.
  • Persistent Filters: Your chosen filter combination is automatically saved when you close the crafting window and reapplied when you next open it.
  • Built-in XP Display: Clearly see which skills will gain experience and the base XP amount for each craftable item.
  • [NEW] Category Icons: All categories now have their own distinct icons for easier visual navigation.

Compatibility
It will very likely conflict with other mods that also alter the crafting window, recipe list panel, or similar UI components. If you use other UI mods affecting the crafting screen, you may encounter issues.

Should problems arise, try adjusting your mod load order (placing after other potentially conflicting UI mods). In some cases, you may need to choose which mod's crafting interface changes you prefer.

Feedback & Suggestions
As I'm relatively new to modding Project Zomboid, your feedback is very much appreciated. While this mod has been tested, there may be unforeseen bugs or areas for improvement.

If you encounter any issues, please report them in the Bug Reports & suggestions for enhancements or ideas for new features please share them in the Suggestions.

I will review all feedback submitted in these discussions and consider it for future updates.

I want to address everyone at once: thank you for all your kind words! While I don't reply to them (as I don't want to unnecessarily clutter the comments), I read everything and I'm glad my mod has been useful to you :steamhappy:

Since these are literally my first steps in modding of PZ, feedback is incredibly important for timely bug fixes and making improvements. I also want to note that this is especially crucial right now, because if I lose interest in the game, updates will most likely stop being released. Therefore, if something in the mod doesn't suit you, and/or you'd like to see something else in it, please don't hesitate to share your suggestions or report any bugs/incompatibilities you find.

@aBel.caldwell Yep, they are fully compatible.

i assume the "what can i craft" mod wont mess with anything this mod modifies? since i think that mod just adds another button you can press when you right click on an item itself and not on the crafting screen

OK......

But I think, since there's such a request, I will also add localization for the categories for all supported languages.

@我是一个小菜坤 I haven't modified the category name strings in any way (if that's what you're referring to), and their localization is taken directly from the game. I personally play in Russian and also use modifications for the game's translation; without them, the categories display in English for me too, because the official localization is far from complete :)

However, I can assume that you might have previously used the mod Craft and Build Category Translate [B42] . Unfortunately, it won't be compatible, as it also edits the ISWidgetRecipeCategories.lua interface file and uses its own method for naming categories, overwriting the original. (I don't know why its author did that, but this makes their mod incompatible with many others and ultimately useless, as the translation won't work).

That's so strange — the list on the left is in English, and even after filtering, it's still in English with no change.

@Duncan E. OK,I'm working on an introduction video for another mod right now, so I'll check this one later. (Because when I translated your mod before, I didn't test it at the time, and only found this issue when I started testing.) I'll take a look later, and if everything is working properly, I’ll make a recommendation video for your mod. QWQ
