Description

Rim Effect is a large overhaul mod series, adding the story, races, objects, and conflicts of Mass Effect universe into RimWorld. The Mass Effect elements are not meant to stand out, and as such are blended into the RimWorld style by utilising the same naming conventions and writing styles.

Much like Vanilla Factions Expanded, the Rim Effect mod series comes divided into sub-modules, firstly to allow the players to pick exactly what elements they want in their games, secondly to ease the production and design process.

Extended Cut is a unique module, as this mod contains everything we thought could be cool, but at the same time might be considered bloat for the main modules. This includes more doors, more weapons or new features like colour changing for prefab lamps. Unlike other modules, this one will grow in size over time. The amount of content you see here now, is not final.

The Renegade and Legacy versions are entirely separate and not compatible with one another, see the collection here for more information.

Q: What exactly can I expect from this mod?
A: Extended Cut is a mod adding lots of new content that we didn’t find necessary for the Core module, which at some point had to be limited in scope. Any overflow ended up and will end up in this Extended Cut module.

Q: I dislike X mechanic, can I disable it?
A: No, the entirety of the mod comes as one package, with every mechanic tied to other mechanics. If you dislike something, simply don’t use it in game - there is plenty of elements in this mod. Avoid the ones you dislike.

Q: Is this mod necessary to play Rim Effect?
A: No, it’s simply additional content you might enjoy for full Mass Effect experience.

Q: Can I add it to an ongoing save? Can I remove it?
A: Yes, you can add it whenever you like. Make sure to back up your save though, as removing mods can cause issues.
