PLEASE READ
Before you start please only download and use the Rim-Effect Renegade and not the Legacy version

Question: There is HAR race, why use Renegade that use xenotype instead of Legacy that uses HAR.

Answer: If I remember right its because the github of Legacy got 2 out of 5 modules for 1.5 for quite some time while Renegade has all 5 updated to 1.5 which I was using. I just want more content for me to play which resulted in this when I shared an unofficial 1.5 update in workshop.
I know all the 1.5 of both Legacy and Renegade is released just very recently but I don't plan to change this mods dependency and somehow ruin someones playthrough rn.


Ok I updated this to 1.5 so I can have more Mass Effect factions to interact with.

Please take note that I removed the hediff of Krogan's Rage since I'm not someone who code dll stuff in Assemblies, it causes the draft gizmo of a Krogan to disappear so I disabled it for now.

Also can keep an eye out on those Salarians on how they lay eggs, didn't happen to me yet. And if they ever do make sure a pawn doesn't eat it because they WILL eat it.

Other than that I see no errors right now with my rookie number of 145 modlist.

Details:

The second entry into a series of Mass Effect themed mods that I intend to make, in order to bring that universe into Rimworld bit by bit to the best of my ability. This mod adds two new races, as well as their own weapons, armor, factions and more.

This is my second real attempt at modding in Rimworld, so if you run into issues/suggestions let me know so I can tweak this as I go.

Includes:

Two (three) new factions
The Krogan Clans (One friendly, one hostile)
The Salarian Colonial Initiative

Two new races
Krogan
Resilient
Physically powerful
Slow-moving
Features: Blood Rage(pain reduced), Genophage(Fertility reduced)
Salarians
Physically weak
Short-lived
Fast workers
Good researchers

New weapons (with unique sounds)
Krogan Rifle (Striker - Explosive rounds)
Krogan Shotgun (Claymore)
Krogan Spikethrower (Grall Spikethrower)
Krogan Hammer
Salarian Shotgun (Venom Shotgun - Explosive rounds)
Salarian Heavy Pistol (Scorpion Pistol - Explosive rounds)

New armor/apparel (for their specific races only)
Krogan armors (Light, Medium, Heavy)
Krogan robes
Salarian armor
Salarian apparel (Scientist uniform, undersuit, jacket, suit)

Ryncol, a strong krogan liquor

Hi,

why rely on Renegade version of Rim-Effect instead of Legacy if your mod going to require HAR ?

@wizkid611 sorry but nope , this is just HAR, I just updated this to 1.5 to play with and share, that was the main goal

making this a xenotype is honestly a pain for me to do rn doing them from ground up, so if anyone is invested enough up to the task they can just ask the original author to make a version of this with xenotypes. Before this mod was updated the only problem was mostly the HAR race if I remember right so they can quickly make one with xenotypes if they wanted to.

Also there is Bambaryła's mass effect xenotypes, character edit change your pawn with his xenotype if you want.

Ah yea forgot to say to anyone reading this, personally I won't even dare again add mods that adds faction on an ongoing play-through, I still remember in the past adding factions breaks something not noticeable at first(for me anyways), I just realized my game bricked when I look at the world map.

Just be careful and always have a backup save file specially when your run lasted for some time and very very attached on your colony than your real family. Don't want any of you to go emotional cray-cray in real life and proceed to beat up your wife in anger and go to prison because of a video game.
