Description
Special thanks to Johnnyboy, the creator of SOG AI, for his great modification and all his technical advice!

Are you missing the classic Arma squad communication, which is disabled in the campaign? Now you can manually turn it back on through the CBA parameters!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vietcong: Fist Alpha SP is a community remake of Vietcong: Fist Alpha (2004), set several months before the events of the main game Vietcong (2003). This is the next step in the effort to remake the legendary Vietcong series into the cooperative format of Arma 3, with respect for the work of the original creators. You will once again step into the shoes of old familiar characters from the Green Berets, this time under the command of SFC Warren Douglas, accompanied by pointman Nguyen. Lay the foundation stone of the Nui Pek camp, fight against the VC guerrillas deep in the Vietnamese jungle and take part in a major operation against the NVA regiment in Cambodia!

Basic information:
- SP campaign created for the SOG AI mod
- Difficulty: Medium
- Category: Roleplay, Infantry, Special Forces
- Dubbing: Yes
- Setting: Vietnam War

Single-player version features:
1. Five missions for single-player mode
2. Reworked armory, with the option to select loadouts of your comrades
3. Skippable opening cutscenes (hold spacebar)
4. Implemented SOG AI features for the best possible experience
5. Removal of the Pointman system (now present only in the COOP version)

For the best experience, it is strongly recommended to use this collection of mods:

Important notes:

1. In order for missions to work as intended, it is essential that objective markers are turned on in your difficulty setting. This campaign does not use a classic map for navigation, but a waypoint system.

2. Apart from the required modifications and the recommended collection, it is theoretically possible to use any mod you like. However, I do not recommend using modifications affecting the behavior of artificial intelligence, unless you are absolutely sure that it can cause no harm.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Future plans:
1. Custom difficulty (Q4 2024)
2. Fist Alpha Expansion (March 2025)
3. Vietcong: Fist Alpha Singleplayer (April 2025)
4. Vietcong Singleplayer (2025)
5. Vietcong 2 US Campaign (?)
6. Coop campaign set in 2035 (Postponed)

The author does not own the assets taken from the original game Vietcong: Fist Alpha (2004) and receives no financial reward for this mod. It is purely a non-profit, community-based project.

Howdy. While I agree that what you say makes sense, I tried to be "somewhat" faithful to the original games. To make it more clear...

M2 Carbine:
- Not present in any VC game (VC, VC:FA, VC2)
- As such, not present in my Fist Alpha campaign
- Added mid-game to my Vietcong campaign for balance

M16:
- Not present in the Vietcong: Fist Alpha game
- As such, not present in my Fist Alpha campaign
- It's first canon appearance is in the "Brush and Sweep" mission in the Vietcong game
- As such, added in Mission 7 in my Vietcong campaign

The developers justified this decision with poor logistics.
I decided to stay true to that logic in Fist Alpha, to offer a different kind of experience to the player.

And to be fair, when I'll make Vietcong 2, it will be a total gunfest.

@primkup we can mix m1 and m2 carbine in vietcong original campaign and fist-alpha;and in fist-alpha maybe we can choose m16s because m16s was issued to US SF in 1965-1966

Yes, that makes sense. You basically rewritten my mission and in doing so, you removed the 3den features.

Add me to your friend list, I'll DM you about the voice lines.

@primkup

Also, I noticed that in your mission, besides the scripted dialogue from your code, the normal voice communications between characters (such as team members talking to each other) seem to have been removed. Even after I added the artillery support module from the Vietnam DLC, the built-in voice lines for requesting support were missing as well.
I'm curious, what code did you use to achieve this? I would like to learn how to do it.

@primkup

I figured out what happened. I edited your mission without loading the "3den Enhanced" mod, adding the artillery support module from the Vietnam DLC (I thought a little bit of "cheating" would make the single-player mission more interesting), and then saved the mission. This caused the issues I described earlier. Later, I loaded the "3den Enhanced" mod and re-saved the mission, and the problems were resolved.
So thank you for your reply — you were right, the "3den Enhanced" mod does not cause any dependency issues. Sorry for wasting your time.

@TT
Btw, were you using some other mods which are not required items or in my collection of mods?

@TT
This is very strange, I haven't seen this problem before and I playtested every mission (including their COOP version) without 3den activated. But since this happened in your case, it may happen to other people as well. Just to be sure, I will add it as a dependency.

Thank you for telling me and have a good day!

@primkup

The issue I encountered is that if I don't load the "3den Enhanced" mod, the option to drag the pilot does not appear after encountering him in the first mission. Once the mod is loaded, the option becomes available. Additionally, there are problems with character animations not playing correctly. Of course, this might just be an issue on my end.
